International Expansion Manager – UK Based (Remote)

The International Expansion Manager will be responsible for supporting Juul’s ambitious expansion project in EMEA. This highly visible role would play a major role in shaping JUUL’s future commercial business in EMEA. The Manager will be a key contributor in  market research efforts and developing detailed launch plans for potential new markets in this region. Juul is looking for an individual contributor to support the commercial due diligence, the development of strategic priorities and commercial strategy for these markets. 


ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the evaluation of new market opportunities in EMEA through analysis of potential business, inclusive of competitive, financial, market and performance analysis
  • Perform interviews to market experts and external consultants to gain insights on best commercial operational practices in markets across EMEA 
  • Conduct market visits in potential new markets to gain insights on competitive efforts, retail landscape and optimal route-to-market models  
  • Assist in the negotiations with potential distributor partners, key customers and/or 3rd party services companies 
  • Develop materials, presenting key insights, feedback, and market analysis to facilitate informed decision-making and strategy formulation for new markets in EMEA 
  • Partner closely with internal stakeholders to ensure potential new market launches remain on schedule. This will include working closely with the Regulatory, Underage Use Prevention, Legal, Marketing, E-commerce, Sales, and Operations/Supply Chain functions
  • Help develop strategic options for continued development of new markets, including but not limited to:
    • Evolution in product pricing and rebates
    • Potential product innovation launches
    • Identify potential GTM models and partnership opportunities

PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-5 years of experience in corporate or commercial strategy, management consulting, distribution management, or other related industries
  • Previous experience performing market or industry due diligence analysis for FMCG / Tech companies across EMEA  
  • Strong experience managing internal stakeholders and communicating at a senior leadership level
  • Strong interest in FMCG/vapor industry
  • Great communicator, both person-to-person and using technology (PowerPoint, Excel, teleconferences, etc.)
  • Capability to discern important factors from noise in a busy role
  • Fluent in other EMEA languages a plus but not required
  • Be located in the UK (London office and/or remote)

  • Navigate difficult and ambiguous scenarios that you may not have experienced before

Nice to haves:

  • Industry experience in tobacco or other tobacco products category
  • Previous experience in a fast-growing start-up with international ambitions 
  • Understanding the Juul Labs customer and vapor industry

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 
  • Master’s degree preferred but not required
