Workrise is hiring a GWO Instructor that will be responsible for delivering in class and hands-on training to workrise employees by the current GWO standards. Our ideal candidate for this role will be someone who has experience delivering GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) and GWO Basic Technical Training (BTT).

The Training Department is focused on meeting the needs of the customer by qualifying workers in both safety and technology. This new training facility will be a state-of-the-art learning environment and will further the mission of Workrise to add 1M skilled workers by 2030.
What you’ll be doing:
As part of the Training team at Workrise, you will be responsible for training GWO classes in both BST and BTT (www.globalwindsafety.org)
- Teach in a classroom environment for extended periods of time
- Training in lab environments on Hydraulic and Electrical systems
- Training on a 25 foot tall climbing structure
- Manage classes and labs with up to 12 participants
- Assist in developing training curriculum that align with BTT and BST standards
- Prepare learning environment before each class
- Print and compile training materials for each class
- Archive records into training database and LMS
- Set up lab equipment for use in training
- Design labs that most effectively assess student learning
- Examine lab equipment daily for condition and schedule preventative maintenance on lab equipment
What you should have:
- Two-year college degree, industry related training and certificates, or at least 2 years of wind industry experience or wind industry training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Teaching experience in safety and/or technical discipline
- At least 5 years wind industry experience preferred
- Familiarity with presentation software such as MS Powerpoint
- Other MS Office and G-Suite experience prefered
- Strong time management skills
- Hazard awareness and ability to stop-work when hazards arise
- Risk assessment experience prefered
- First Aid, CPR, AED training experience preferred
- Deep knowledge of Wind Turbine technology, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Understanding of OSHA, GWO, and other industrial safety standards
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs
- Position will involve climbing a ladder as well as rope access work (positioning, descending) at heights up to 30 feet
