Summary:
Operate high resolution, variable print proprietary ink jet imaging equipment. Program and prepare jobs for printing. Maintain daily print production logs and daily delivery manifests. Setup, program, and release jobs from print queue. Adjust image position, maintain color quality, print resolution, perforations, and fold position on paper. Monitor quality of job output. Occasional material handling of product required which includes piling down of printed books. Order supplies such as ink, bonding agent, and equipment parts as needed. Maintain proper inventory levels.

Successful Candidate will be required to present acceptable proof that they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before working onsite at DFIN.
Schedule:
3rd shift works: 7pm - 7am.
Front half of the week works Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Back half of the week works Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. You then rotate front-to-back (and back-to-front) every 5 weeks.
Overtime required as/when needed.
Responsibilities:
Requires advanced knowledge of digital print and/or inkjet imaging equipment including set up, adjustment, operating procedures, and corresponding level of skill to set up, operate, and adjust equipment. Additional skills include, diagnosing and solving problems affecting the quality and timeliness of products and services. Requires advanced knowledge of color theory and ability to make color adjustments when operating equipment to meet customer specifications. Excellent knowledge of file manipulation and file formats for digital print. Extended knowledge and ability to set up feed rollers, tensioning, timing, and in-line finishing per job specifications. Ability to make corrective adjustments when performed require the operator to consider the symptoms along with possible causes and remedies.
Apply principles of rational systems to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form.

Medium Work Job requires ability to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Occasionally (1/3 of time)
Ability to frequently lift 5# - 10# stacks of press pasted book blocks throughout the entire shift. Occasionally (1/3 of time)

Qualifications:
Able to perform arithmetic, algebraic, and geometric procedures in standard practical applications.
Able to read and interpret work instructions. Ability to use maintenance shop tools and equipment along with interpreting methods and procedures in mechanical drawing and layout work. Able to communicate effectively in writing using proper format, punctuation, spelling, and grammar, using all parts of speech.
