Job Description DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Deploy and maintain scalable cluster environments. Oversee daily operate activities, customer calls, issues and troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis. Provide technical guidance to the operate team with respect to BigData solutions. Work with BigData developers for designing scalable infrastructure. Work with the Linux server administration team with administering the server hardware and operating system. Troubleshoot issues, provide root-cause analysis, and remediate to minimize future system issues. Provide off-hours support on a rotational basis. Automate and streamline process by using java and python, shell scripts and scheduling tools. Develop frameworks or tools that help to maintain, monitor and support platform with minimal manual interventions. Coordinate root cause analysis (RCA) efforts to minimize future system issues. Support Sustained Resiliency, Disaster Recovery, and High Availability events.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus two (2) years of experience in the job offered or two (2) years of experience as a Software Developer, Software Programmer, Systems Engineer, Software Engineer or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Linux systems; developing and supporting applications in a Hadoop environment; managing distributions of Hadoop including Hortonworks and Cloudera; Spark, HBASE, Kafka, Impala and services interoperability; Hive, PIG, Oozie, Sqoop and Flume; performance troubleshooting and tuning Hadoop Clusters; Hadoop cluster connectivity and security; Hadoop security knowledge and permissions schemes; and java, python and shell scripting.
