The Information Services Group (ISG) provides research support to the global Investment Banking Division (IBD) of Goldman Sachs. ISG's responsibilities broadly involve overseeing and managing the intake of ad-hoc data requests from IBD Analysts and Associates and delegating and completing the same from various data bases. The function includes liaising with deal teams, interpreting requests, managing tight deadlines, understanding industry trends, driving data delivery, and providing industry leadership. The role requires overseeing teams both locally and regionally, training and upskilling team capabilities, and coordinating with teams on a global scale to improve data accuracy and information delivery workflow.

  • Liaise with IBD deal teams to ensure an exact understanding of requirements and provide concise and focused research via FactSet, Refinitiv, Dealogic, Capital IQ, and other databases.
  • Reviewing and interpreting data while e nsuring deliverables are completed in a timely manner and adhere to the highest quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with IBD Analysts, Associates, VPs, Business Unit Managers, and other key stakeholders across regions.
  • Understand and explain copyright and data usage issues to clients as required, in partnership with Compliance and Engineering.
  • Foster an environment of collaboration and drive best-in-class information delivery. Organize and conduct training and upskilling to enhance service delivery.
  • Work closely with vendors and optimize costs by reevaluating licenses and information processes. Ensure access to accurate information from reliable databases while removing excess spend across vendors.
  • Drive operational efficiencies to enhance ISG's banker workflow. Provide actionable insights to bankers that give them commercial leverage to serve our clients with best-in-class information.

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics
  • 6-8 years of work experience in Investment Banking or related fields.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to interact with internal clients and stakeholders. Must be able to present sound, persuasive rationale for ideas or opinions and communicate what is relevant and important in a clear and concise manner and share information / new ideas with others.
  • Take a position on issues and influence others' opinions and present persuasive recommendations. Be able to provide thought leadership by pushing topical content and understanding market trends.
  • Effectively handle difficult asks and help bankers define needs and manage client expectations. See the big picture and effectively analyze complex issues.
  • The ability to work under pressure. Think ahead, anticipate questions, plan for contingencies, find alternative solutions, identify clear objectives and make defensible judgments regarding workflow.
  • To excel in this role, candidates must have excellent computer skills particularly with MS Excel and strong quantitative ability.
  • Successfully handle multiple tasks, be organized, take initiative to improve own performance, work intensely towards extremely challenging goals and persist in the face of obstacles or setbacks.
