Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Geologist/ Hydrogeologist we'll count on you to:

  • Follow prescribed procedures and detailed instructions, conduct analyses to develop design options or recommendations and assist in the preparation of technical documents.
  • Perform routine scientist assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures on projects that have clear, specified objectives and limited variables.
  • Work independently on small projects or assist more-senior scientists on larger projects.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Science, Hydrogeology or closely related field.
  • Capable of adequately completing the following types of tasks:

    • Soil and bedrock drilling
    • Surface and borehole geophysical techniques
    • Ability to assess and classify soil and rock samples to determine geologic type
    • Overseeing well installation and test pit excavation
    • Performing well test pumping and associated aquifer capacity analyses
    • Soil, sediment, surface water and groundwater sampling
    • Subcontractor oversight
    • Order supplies/equipment for completion of field tasks
    • Remedial systems performance monitoring
    • Preparation of well completion reports
    • Groundwater impact studies and hydrogeologic assessments
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Self-starter with excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Strong commitment to safety, including following health and safety protocols.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced dynamic environment handling multiple project assignments and meeting strict deadlines.
  • Ability and willingness to perform physically demanding tasks in adverse environmental conditions (rugged terrain, remote locations, hot and cold temperatures).
  • Ability to organize and evaluate data including the preparation of reports, tables, graphs, charts, and figures.
  • Requires ability to travel.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.



Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with field work and different environmental and/or remedial technologies a plus.
  • Experience preparing technical reports, well diagrams, and boring logs a plus.
  • Experience with well design, construction, and testing oversight.
  • Experience with AQTESOLV or similar aquifer testing analysis software.
  • Basic knowledge of federal and Idaho environmental and well construction regulations a plus.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER training a plus.
  • Local candidates preferred.
