We are seeking a Head of SOX Compliance to join Hims & Hers. The role will enhance the effectiveness, efficiency, and scalability of the company's processes, systems, and underlying internal control environment, whether through the SOX compliance efforts or by conducting special projects. The cross-functional role will closely partner with Legal, Finance, Engineering & Security business leaders, as well as internal & external auditors to unify SOX Compliance across the organization.  The role reports directly to the CFO.

Responsibilities: 

  • Manages the company’s end-to-end SOX program and works closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, while also managing work execution at each testing phase
  • Leads the design and execution of risk-based assessments and control testing in accordance with SOX regulations and ensures testing results are appropriately documented and communicated
  • Manages the workstreams of the external Big 4 internal audit function
  • Integrates newly acquired businesses under the Corporate SOX program, provides SOX training and rolls out compliance requirements to new subsidiaries 
  • Deeply understands IT infrastructure and leads workstreams relating to IT General Controls and key business IT infrastructure with partnership from Financial Systems and Security teams
  • Coordinates with external auditors on the annual SOX testing plan and ensures timely and smooth completion of SOX 404b workstreams
  • Facilitates control gap and remediation tracking and validates closure of issues
  • Provides routine training and support to process owners to ensure a thorough understanding of the SOX program, risk and control requirements
  • Manages SOX compliance software, AuditBoard
  • Closely partners with legal on enterprise risk management program and entity-level controls
  • Researches and communicates best practices, identifies areas for improvement, and provides effective recommendations and sound audit conclusions
  • Champions risks and controls considerations across the organization 
  • Develops a long-term plan for internal SOX compliance
  • Facilitates periodic SOX compliance presentations for Executive Management and the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors
  • Consults on internal control considerations for system implementations impacting financial reporting

Experience & Skills: 

  • 10+ years of experience required, with Big 4, SOX consulting and/or Internal Audit experience strongly preferred
  • Direct experience with PCAOB standards, SOX requirements, and COSO Framework required. Specifically, ideal candidate must demonstrate a firm grasp of financial reporting and SOX requirements and methodologies (risk assessment, controls design, testing strategies, etc.)
  • Knowledge of process flow mapping, design and documentation of business process and general information technology controls, controls testing, evaluation of control deficiencies, and remediation plans required
  • Proficient project management skills
  • Top-level critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented and exceptionally organized
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to critically think through complex problems, determine proper processes, and derive conclusions to present results to the team
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage projects/tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to be a team player and work well in a remote work environments
