About the Role

Are you passionate about leading operational excellence in an entrepreneurial and dynamic work environment? We are looking for a Head of Operations, Managed Transportation to join us on our journey to facilitate a digital revolution in the B2B supply chain. The Head of Operations, Managed Transportation position is ideal for a well experienced logistics professional who can not only establish best practices with their business acumen and build and lead a team on strategy development and operational execution for all core logistics functions for the non-energy segment, but more importantly, understands when they need to roll up their sleeves and fully immerse themselves in the day-to-day execution versus simply delegating. The role requires leadership and vision to develop operational strategies specifically for a fast-growing organization with a number of offerings in various stages of adoption and product market fit. If you embody a win or die mentality, and enjoy collaborating with various internal & external stakeholders, and solving mission-critical challenges in a fast-paced environment, this may be the position for you.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibility of nationwide operations of the non-energy segment, including managed transportation services and carrier sourcing operations for a variety of industry verticals
  • Build and lead an operations team that focuses on operational excellence, customer service and maintaining a win or die mentality
  • Develop strategy and tactics to achieve long-term and near-term strategic objectives
  • Leading from the front when necessary and doing whatever it takes to ensure operational success
  • Establish KPIs to measure performance of various segments and derive actionable insights
  • Hire, develop, and manage performance and development of colleagues
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Strong background of supply chain & logistics, brokerage, 3PL, drayage, and intermodal experience
  • Superior understanding of the SaaS & Logistics value chain
  • Experience managing complex logistics practices in a high-tech development environment
  • Track record of technical innovation, creativity, problem solving and risk assessment
  • Solid business leadership on strategic and tactical level in complex and volatile environment
  • Recognized as high performing, successful leader of change
  • Ability to provide mentoring, coaching, and leadership across various functions
  • Ability to influence internal and external stakeholders on key business decisions
  • Team player to collaborate with business units and functional partners like other operations team members, Engineering, Finance, HR, Legal, etc.
  • Proven leadership, communication and listening skills
  • Sound decision making and proactive conflict resolution
  • Position requires 50-75% domestic travel

Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • University degree required - in the disciplines of either Supply Chain Management, Business, or Engineering
  • EXPERIENCE IN THE ROLE: 5 years management experience in supply chain management or product management in the trucking/transportation industry
  • TOTAL EXPERIENCE: 10 years of business management experience in supply chain & logistics in the trucking/transportation industry

Compensation: $175-250K
