Duties and Responsibilities:

• Define the strategy and vision for speaker programming and content at our inaugural event.
• Execute the event content and agenda.
• Conduct primary research to ascertain and validate conference content, identify the conference's positioning statement, overall strategies and topics reflecting the latest trends and industry outlook
• Develop in-depth sales, marketing and project briefs summarizing the main findings of the research for the wider conference team.
• Work with industry advisors and marketing team on audience development and community engagement. 
• Develop relationships with influencers, thinkers and doers in the Amazon and marketplace selling space.
• Ensure that event content and educational programming features key industry trends and insights, how those trends impact the audience, and deliver programming to best engage the audience based on those insights.
• Work cross-functionally to vet and confirm speakers and handle speaker logistics.
• Deliver unusual, surprising and delightful experiences on a large scale, growing to a massive scale.
• Benchmark audience experience against other key conferences and develop insights to further refine future programming.
• While executing against short term goals, take a multi-year view to continue to improve the audience experience through unparalleled programming.
• Attend other industry trade shows and conferences and report on findings, what worked & what didn’t.

Job Requirements:

• BS/BA and 5+ years of experience in conference programming and development, experience in the ecommerce space a major plus.
• Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful event throughout its lifecycle, and year over year growth.
• Strong organizational and project-management skills.
• Empathy towards the audience with the ability to understand their key concerns and what can inspire and thrill them.
• Outstanding communication skills, regularly decomposing complex problems and presenting them clearly to the team and executives.
• Strong work ethic. Employees must understand and possess a willingness to work hard, be honest and have integrity.
• Must be a self-starter and able to adapt in an ever-changing environment.
• Organizational and leadership skills.
• Public and/or media relations experience.
• Some travel required.
