As a Global Procurement Category Manager for CMP, you will take part in developing and execute a holistic sourcing and management strategy for the specific category of spend and lead a team dedicated to this category. You will participate in the development strategies for assigned categories by conducting an assessment of a category's current and future needs, analysis of market trends and potential suppliers, analysis of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and opportunities to leverage changes in processes, systems and product/services, and estimating timing and level of savings capture.
In this role you will contribute to Material Strategy Teams (MST) working with OCT, TD and various site stakeholders to develop and execute category specific strategy. You will also develop and implement sourcing and selection events related for CMP category, conduct negotiations for strategic sourcing events, using should cost modeling, analytical techniques, big data analysis to drive the negotiation process and coordinate periodic negotiations / renewals into bundled negotiation.
Other responsibilities include ensuring supplier compliance to company policies and departmental business processes. You will provide leadership for building and implementing department strategies, processes, and policy through active oversight of functional teams and projects, and mentor functional leaders through collaboration and the development of sustainably successful solutions. You will also be responsible for conveying corporate business initiatives, aligning team and individual goals to business objectives, and driving overall high performance within your team and the department.
Role Responsibilities & Tasks
Build and Execute Category Strategic Sourcing and Management Plan

  • Work with cross-functional teams to plan strategic sourcing direction for category
  • Deliver category savings and scorecard metric targets and Maintain supplier segmentation map for category; build partnerships with strategic suppliers
  • Recommend areas and target for spend reduction, purchasing efficiency, customer services and supplier management
  • Monitor the implementation of sourcing strategies and contract compliance and participate in the resolution of any constraints or issues
  • Identify and implement category specific savings levers to achieve cost savings targets
  • Lead in should cost modelling and maintenance for CMP categories. Work with stake holders to develop and identify could cost opportunities


Interface Globally with Customers, Procurement Business Partners, and Suppliers on Category Strategies

  • Act as procurement point of contact for suppliers and maintain relationships with supplier senior executives
  • Strategize and influence on supplier development roadmaps to align with Micron internal objectives
  • Work with suppliers to secure supply and ensure Micron's business continuity plans
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with supplier(s) while resolving supplier performance/capability issues
  • Ensure suppliers comply with Micron's code-of-conduct programs and corporate social responsibility initiatives
  • Communicate key supplier management updates and decisions to multiple levels in the organization
  • Provide the voice of the supply base to Micron and provide the voice of Micron to the supply base
  • Initiate and sustain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders


Collaborate with Internal Stakeholders to Deliver Strategic Solutions

  • Develop and maintain expertise in the assigned spend categories through relationships with Category Director, Site Category Supplier Managers, TD Material Procurement and ISM teams
  • Maintain supplier segmentation map for category
  • Implement processes to monitor stakeholder satisfaction with key suppliers
  • Drive customer-centric approach to solving issues and representing Procurement
  • Maintain close interaction with business partners to ensure category-related needs are addressed
  • Manage conflict and build effective relationships with stakeholders
  • Provide advice to senior and executive management on strategic decisions related to the category


Supplier Performance Management

  • Lead in organizing and delivering on strategic supplier events, such as Quarterly Business Reviews, Annual Supplier Evaluations, and Executive Review Meetings
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and teams and sites to build comprehensive view of supplier performance
  • Manage overall Strategic Supplier relationships for FE Materials and One Voice
  • Collaborate internally to drive and develop key performance measures/metrics for Strategic Suppliers and monitor supplier performance against these expectations to ensure continuous supplier improvement


Qualifications

  • Analytical and problem solving thinker that can set financial targets and incorporate TCO concepts
  • Knowledge of Should-Cost modeling, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) concepts and strategic sourcing process
  • An advocate and a change agent, capable of navigating the organization and influence decisions
  • Ability to navigate the organization and influence decisions
  • Analytic toolset - able to set financial targets and incorporate TCO concepts
  • Negotiation experience for large spend, multi-year contracts
  • Familiarity with CMP Suppliers


At least 3 years' experience in any of the following:

  • Engineering
  • Purchasing/Procurement
  • Supplier/Partner Relations
  • Supply Chain
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications


Education Required
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

  • Business Administration/Management
  • Engineering
  • Related field of study


Desired Master's Degree or equivalent experience

  • Business Administration/Management
  • Engineering
  • Related field of study


Certificates Desired
