Job Description Agility Lead - Global Investment Banking & Corporate Banking Technology Transformation & Agility [ED]

We will offer you the opportunity to:

  • Work across product owners and tech teams primarily, plus business partners to create an end-to-end flow of value
  • Drive an optimised environment for teams, removing impediments to accomplish goals
  • Coordinate with central tech and services providers within and outside the LOB to ensure that team impediments are effectively remediated.
  • Develop new or leverage existing progress updates to create transparency into team progression and escalated impediments.
  • Promote a continuous improvement mindset at all levels.
  • Coach and support teams to deliver outstanding outcomes
  • Coach and support teams to embrace agility as a practice & mindset which results in quality product delivery and continuous improvement
  • Coach the coaches. As we hire agility leads aligned to teams, create a virtual network and support system to collectively accelerate the transformation
  • Create an environment that fosters retention, mobility, and recruitment activities
  • Coach business partners to adopt enterprise agility mind-sets and practices
  • Energize the team to drive the agility mindset & outcomes with an effective communication strategy recognizing successes and providing learning at scale
  • Be a co-owner as part of the leadership team of a growing tech organisation supporting a #1 world leading Investment Banking franchise.


Your career experience:
You will bring high levels of energy, be a great communicator and super focused on delivering value/results. Able to motivate and inspire a large, globally distributed, diverse team with creativity to overcome barriers (e.g. lack of co-location) and work within the broader corporate framework.
Ideally you will bring the following experience and skills:

  • 10+ years of experience as an Agile Coach within a large-scale enterprise environment
  • 10+ years of experience in organizational design and transformation within a large-scale enterprise environment
  • Highly skilled facilitation and training capabilities to handle small ( 40 people) workshops and/or trainings
  • Demonstrated ability as an Agile Coach and influencer of existing and newly formed teams via:
    • Application of Scrum/Agile principles
    • Ability to flex approach based on the needs of the team/organization
    • Understand team dynamics and organizational boundaries / constraints
  • Experience scaling large enterprise agile teams
  • Collaboration with other coaches on cohesive messaging and outcome-based coaching plans
  • Ability to help product owners create OKRs as well as organize roadmaps with their teams
  • Ability to use facilitation skills to help unlock self-organization, autonomy and creativity
  • Ability to lead Design Thinking / Strategy Sessions
  • Relative Estimation and Planning skills to help the Team to ensure they have a healthy backlog
  • Working knowledge of collaboration tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Share Point, Virtual Boards


Exhibit a deep passion for continuous learning and provide knowledge gained throughout the entire organization, beyond the team and line of business, facilitate classes, workshops, and Agile sharing events (e.g. Community of Practice, Coaching Clinics, Agile Training)

Agility Leads at JPMorgan:
An Agility Lead is the coach, protector and facilitator who helps Product Teams and Product Owners to remove any impediments that may hinder the team from reaching its goals and fosters a culture of continuous improvement. The Agility Lead helps by providing effective collaboration, facilitation, leadership and coaching skills. They protect the team from churn,help to drive velocity improvements and lower overall defect density whilst still promoting more frequent deployments.Our Agile Coaches are open, approachable, collaborative and enjoy working with passionate people.

  • Develop the ability within the team to make better decisions faster
  • Foster Team adoption of shared accountability and ownership of problems end to end.
  • Facilitate the team to focus on self-organisation and self-management
  • Facilitate the team to focus on smaller achievable goals and reflect on successes and challenges in order to embrace opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Provide opportunities for cross skills training and growth
