NORM supports the implementation of programs, policies, and practices to manage RSM US risk. The Monitoring Manager will support multiple internal monitoring projects simultaneously, while actively contributing to internal initiatives. The manager will leverage understanding of monitoring trends and business acumen to effectively communicate and implement leading risk management practices. We are open on the location of where this candidate will sit.

Essential Duties:

  • Support multiple internal monitoring projects simultaneously, while actively contributing to internal initiatives. Leverage understanding of monitoring trends and business acumen to effectively communicate and implement leading risk management practices
  • Provide subject-matter expertise in risk mitigation strategies and internal control design and effectiveness
  • Demonstrate experience working with the COSO framework to document and monitor the firm's processes to provide reasonable assurance of COSO's objectives
  • Manages workflow and process with respect to compliance with firm policy and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Risk Management team to ensure the key controls identified in the Firm's top risk areas are tested for operating effectiveness
  • Prepare written reports on results from testing, recommendations and conclusions
  • Support the supervisory monitoring personnel in preparing for and presenting at meetings with various levels of management and the Firm's Board of Directors or committees thereof
  • Managerial oversight of the functional monitoring team of professionals, potentially serving as the career advisor and supporting the career advising of the team
  • Partner with leaders to establish firm monitoring function through strong talent recruitment and the development of an effective, agile, value-add team
  • Effectively manage, motivate and mentor team members to work as a cohesive unit delivering high-quality solutions and deliverables
  • Leverage your experience and expertise to recruit and retain future leaders of the firm through mentorship that focuses on advancing the professional aspirations and skills of your colleagues
  • Proactive personal development in areas such as risk management expertise, technical specializations, and leadership to drive expansive personal value to our people and the firm. Focused development of your network and personal brand within the firm to drive to help drive effective risk mitigation strategies.
  • Other ad hoc projects, as assigned


Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in business, accounting or related discipline
  • Holds or pursuing position relevant certification (e.g. CPA, CIA, CFE)


Technical/Soft Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge working with the COSO framework
  • Proficient in Microsoft office suite & SharePoint
  • Able to interpret and apply organizational policy
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and recommend process improvement and efficiency


Required Experience:

  • 6+ years proven and progressive experience in audit, internal audit or related internal control positions
  • Strong managerial, communications, analytical, organizational, project management and planning skills
  • Collaborates with all levels to achieve results
  • Strong managerial and prioritization skills
  • Ability to respond positively to changing circumstances, seek and implement change to drive business improvement
