We are looking for a talented localization specialist for Japanese to support the localization of our products. You will be working on different brands, including KAYAK and OpenTable, and will contribute to exciting initiatives such as new travel features as well as marketing initiatives.

You will be working on 

  • Accurate and market-relevant translations for our products (websites and apps) that appeal to the target market and with an eye to our different brands

  • Daily content updates to our Travel Restrictions page for Japanese

  • Transcreate travel related content for landing pages, SEO pages, other marketing content and promotional materials

  • Localization testing (linguistic quality and functionality checks) to maximize the engagement with the local audience

  • Updates and maintenance of language-specific tools such as style guide and glossary

  • The expected weekly workload is of 5 hours, potentially more depending on upcoming projects and availability within the team

 

Your Profile

  • Native speaker of Japanese (mandatory)

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English

  • Product UI localization experience

  • Creative translation / transcreation experience

  • SEO experience is a plus

  • Localization testing (linguistic review and functionality testing) experience is a plus

  • Training or education in a relevant field (marketing, copywriting, communication, translation or similar)

  • Ability to learn new tools and technical procedures quickly and effectively

  • Enjoys working with a variety of tasks, and is capable of independently managing workflow, information and processes for different types of projects
