What you’ll do: 

Galileo is currently in the process of transforming the Operational Fraud team function. We are looking for a manager that can support this transformation and drive a differentiated experience for our clients and their customers. The primary focus of the Operational Fraud Manager is to oversee, recommend and implement processes to aid our clients in the reduction of fraud. The ideal candidate for this position has a strong background in fraud, as well as strong team leadership skills.

As a Fraud Manager, you will be responsible for owning and driving the operational strategy, growth, effectiveness, and operational efficiency of our operational Fraud Organization. You’ll be managing a team of ~10 to most efficiently receive, process, investigate, and resolve issues regarding fraud in an accurate and efficient manner. Duties/Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop enhanced operational strategies and member experience, minimize time to re-enablement, and maintain regulatory compliance across third party and internal operations.
  • You will drive innovation and inclusion throughout our Fraud Team, and ensure they have the tools, procedures, and leadership necessary to be successful.
  • Develop strong, collaborative relationships with key internal and external partners to strategically develop, implement and optimize Fraud Operations processes, tools, and policies to achieve performance objectives while mitigating regulatory, repetitional, and financial risk.
  • Celebrate excellent performance and empower your team to improve areas of opportunity.
  • Hire and train a team of individual contributors as the business grows.
  • Own and assess your team’s progress toward the OKR and other performance goals.
  • Support internal and external audits and due diligence requests.

What we are looking for:

What you’ll need:

  • 8+ years of experience with 3+ years of team management and leadership experience, preferably in a fraud or risk type role.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required. College degree preferred.
  • Any knowledge of banking regulations, ID verification, CIP, BSA/AML requirements or prior fraud/risk/investigative work is a plus but not required.
  • Broad knowledge of fraud operations strategy, process optimization, and customer experience leader with a validated history of balancing fraud/risk and member experience needs.
  • The belief it’s integral to lead your team with integrity and create an environment where your team members feel included, valued, and supported to do work that energizes them.
  • A passion for identifying problems and finding the best possible solution.
  • The ability to analyze, summarize, and communicate findings and issues drawn from facts and apply complex legal and regulatory requirements in a technically competent manner.
  • Proven ability to transform strategy into action and drive results through others.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office or G Suite skills.
