Key Qualifications

  • Strong background in FEA fundamentals and extensive hands-on experience on FEA simulation (either Abaqus or Ansys), including rigid body mechanism analysis, linear and nonlinear static and dynamic analysis, large deformation, fracture initiation and propagation, buckling analysis, design optimization, simulation automation, and correlation with experiments.
  • Good knowledge and experience in mechanical design, and familiar with MCAD tools, such as NX.
  • Experience at coding, e.g. Python, Matlab, etc.
  • Some knowledge on Machine Learning and Optimization is preferred.
  • Experience in microelectronics, flexible electronics or display technologies is desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills are desirable.


Description

As a technologist, you are responsible for determining suitability of new display technologies, and will have a range of responsibilities in assessing, modeling, and crafting technologies for use in Apple products:
- Assess the mechanical performance of display technologies, across the range of products and systems sold by Apple.
- Characterize and model display mechanical performance and improving properties to meet Apple product needs.
- Work with suppliers to characterize and improve display mechanical performance.
- Support novel display technology development by multiple groups within Apple.
- Work with Apple engineers to assess key metrics in pilot-level and mass-produced products, including reliability.
- Develop Apple Intellectual Property in areas of design and implementation.
- Manage schedules and support multi-functional engineering efforts.

Education & Experience

Masters or Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, materials science, or a closely-allied field, and 3+ years of demonstrated ability in an industrial environment.
