Within the marketing organization, the Red Hat Global Events Experience Team team is looking for an Events Coordinator to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will support marketing, events, communications, and overall strategy for Red Hat's global speaker presence within the technology industry. The current platform is designed to centralize speaker engagements for thought leaders and subject matter experts on Red Hat offerings and services and culture. You will connect Red Hatters with appropriate and relevant speaking opportunities and provide resources for speakers. You will report to the Manager, Global Event Strategy who leads the Global Events Experience Bridge Team. As an Events Coordinator, you'll oversee the Red Hat Speaker's Bureau program and own the project management, overall health, and future efficiencies implementation of the program. Successful remote-based applicants will be considered.

What you will do

  • Manage all aspects of the Red Hat Speakers Bureau, platform powered by Speaker Hub
  • Explore and capture improvements to build into a strategic roadmap for the future of the Red Hat Speakers Bureau while supporting the company strategy and the Red Hat Global Events Team strategy through research, data analysis, SOP design, reporting and more.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to find solutions, and ultimately implement aforementioned solutions, for an internal speaker database resource
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders from the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) team, Corporate Communications team, and other Red Hat's stakeholders
  • Keep stakeholders informed and up to date
  • Create necessary resources, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and kits for speakers best practices
  • Support strategies by creating materials to assist with internal communications to the various Red Hat teams to ensure adherence to best practices and consistent experience
  • Provide regular reporting, trends, deliverable progress, and updates to management and stakeholders
  • Gain understanding of Red Hat as a business
  • Coordinate calendars, calls, and meeting invitations with stakeholders when necessary
  • Perform other duties to support the team as assigned


What you will bring

  • 3+ years of relevant working experience
  • Experience with speaker database management
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with outstanding follow-through skills
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable with public speaking and presenting to variety of stakeholders
  • Highly innovative and motivated
  • Ability to work both on your own and as part of a cross-functional team
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and be flexible in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Creative thinker with the ability to continually contribute ideas to brainstorming sessions
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Data analysis, research, and reporting experience
  • Experience working with Google Workspace
  • Solid, efficient communication skills to work with various groups, including executive level, within Red Hat
  • Willingness to travel up to 30%, following Red Hat's COVID-19 guidelines; willingness to participate in occasional evening and weekend events or meetings
  • Speaker Hub experience is a plus
  • Previous experience with event, marketing, or project management is a plus
