Ergonomics and Wellness Coordinator

Role Summary
- Coordinates all ergonomic improvement activity within Nascote, ensuring compliance with regulations, and participates with manufacturing in continuous improvements and problem solving as it relates to plant personnel.
- Leads and coordinates plant-wide health and wellness activities and education.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
- Required: BS degree in Ergonomics, Occupational Health & Safety, Sports Medicine or related field of study.
- Required: 2-4 years of relevant experience
- Preferred: Ergonomic experience in a manufacturing environment
- Must work well with others, having excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Must have excellent problem-solving, math and computer skills
- Must be able to interpret OSHA and other safety regulations and have knowledge of accident prevention techniques
- Must have the ability to work with limited direction
- Must be able to work flexible hours
Key Responsibilities
• Develop effective exercise programs.• Coordinate education programs designed to promote and encourage employee wellness.• Train Nascote leaders and employees to recognize opportunities for improving general health and wellness.• Coordinate monthly ergonomic committee meetings and lead wellness committee meetings, creating a high degree of involvement from each committee members.• Promotes and establishes lean manufacturing methods that are safe and ergonomically appropriate.• Participates in developing and modifying manufacturing processes for new and existing programs.• Maintains in-depth knowledge of ergonomic standards• Provides expertise and guidance on safety and health issues.• Reviews and approves Safety Change review forms.• Performs safety and health audits (ergonomics, conditions, safety equipment).• Tracks and produces reports for all ergonomic activity (Divisional and Corporate).• Upholds and promotes Nascote's 14 Lean Principles through daily activities.• Supports Nascote's APQP system through diligent communication and coordination of program launch activities.• Attends and reports to the Central Safety Committee.• Maintains strict confidentiality in all employee related matters and information.• Maintains an acceptable attendance record.• Purchases or recommends the purchase of ergonomic related equipment or supplies.• Writes articles to promote wellness and ergonomic programs.• Maintains a clean and safe work area.• Submits cost reduction and Innovation ideas.• Performs other tasks as assigned.
