Job Summary:
FIS seeks to hire an Enterprise Strategic Director who will be responsible for leading a multi-year program to "lift out" business and transition it from the client's environment into FIS' environment, and then lead the subsequent transformation and modernization of the business. This will include a migration of technology systems, business processes, and rebadging of employees. The leader will report into the SVP of Transformation and be responsible for the full end-to-end program delivery including planning; program alignment and maintaining integrity of the program; program office leadership; business engagement within FIS and client stakeholders; and overall program governance related to budget management, schedule management and program reporting. This requires a solid understanding of the business results associated with the Program and a successful track record of "getting things done" within an organization.
What you will be doing

  • Deliver and manage the overall technology and delivery program in support of the SVP of Transformation.
  • Communicate status, risks, issues to Sponsor and Steering Committee.
  • Support the governance structure of the Program including the Committee and Sub-Committee meetings.
  • Manage and align to the program budget.
  • Act as an enabling function for helping the Program achieve its objectives.
  • Support ongoing forums for Program-level discussion of risks, issues, and changes to scope, cost, and schedule.
  • Periodically analyze Program measurement data and determine progress against desired benefits.
  • Make timely trade-off decisions related to the Program.
  • Facilitate escalation and resolution of Program level decisions.
  • Incorporate strategic direction from program leadership and governance committees.
  • Ensure the Program Sponsors have visibility into progress and are adequately informed to make timely decisions.
  • Drive cross-functional interaction between the Program and external initiatives.
  • Advise program leadership and governance committees if adjustments to Program or the overall Program portfolio are necessary.
  • Work closely with the business and technical leads (i.e., Domain Authority Leads) to ensure that the Program is delivering on the overall vision and mission.
  • Liaise with Business Engagement Lead(s) who identify, inform, and engage key stakeholders.


PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
The Enterprise Strategic Director will be an established and proven leader with experience leading complex program delivery of IT and business process services in the financial services sector. This candidate will possess the skills to lead a multi-year transition and transformation, and work effectively with internal FIS stakeholders, client stakeholders, and third-party advisory and integration partners.
What you bring

  • Industry domain expertise in the financial services sector, ideally with a strong understanding of the capital markets, wealth and asset management or retirement industries.
  • Experience leading large and complex programs and outsourcing transitions.
  • Background or experience working with a professional services consulting or IT/business services firm, financial technology organization, or experience leading large programs within a financial institution.
  • Executive level communication and ability to interact effectively with C-level stakeholders, peers and team members throughout the organization, as well as partner with third-party consultants and systems integrators.
  • Mature leadership and executive-level presence to instill confidence and direction of the overall program.
  • Highly motivated and persistent in pursuing objectives despite challenges.
  • Possess mature business judgment; proactive and results oriented.
  • Accustomed to operating in fast-paced environment with demanding external clients.
  • Collaborative style that engages and incorporates inputs from stakeholders yet continues to chart the path forward with the holistic success and timeline of the program in mind.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, business administration or other related discipline or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience. PMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of project management standards, processes, procedures and guidelines
  • Knowledge of the industry project management best practices, i.e., Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) and the FIS Enterprise Project Management Methodology (EPMM)
  • Knowledge of various types of IT project methodologies and life cycles, e.g., conversions, incremental, rapid delivery, classic or traditional waterfall phases of analysis, design, development, testing, implementation and the correct project application
  • Knowledge of standards relevant to the software industry , e.g., ISO, CMM, Six Sigma
  • Knowledge of financial services industry
  • Knowledge of company's products and services
  • Recognized within the enterprise for quality client interaction and successful project completion within the defined scope, quality, time and cost constraints
  • Experience with both large solution implementations at external client organizations and solution development projects
  • Resource management experience with a team of 10 or more
  • Demonstrated ability to establish budgets, forecast and manage financial results
  • Demonstrated excellent leadership, problem-solving, team, conflict management and time management skills
  • Demonstrated strong business acumen
  • Ability to think and act at an enterprise level
  • Ability to interact effectively with executive level clients
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to negotiate externally and internally
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and carry out assignments that are sensitive in nature
