ENTERPRISE BUSINESS ARCHITECT

The Enterprise Business Architect will serve as a thought leader in an agile and innovative organization. This critical role will be responsible for modeling capabilities that represent lines of businesses and functional groups that make up the RSM enterprise. These capabilities will depict required competencies needed to be systemically successful and resources (people, process, technology and equipment) consumed by these capabilities.

This Business Architect will assist in coordination and facilitation of strategic planning discussions across the organization and ensure alignment to the strategic direction of the enterprise. The person in this role will work closely with our Business Relationship Leads to ensure strategic roadmaps collectively come together to provide value for the organization. They will help remove silos and increase synergetic activity where it makes sense for the organization.

The Business Architect is expected to improve business and technology alignment by managing and maintaining relationships on both sides of the fence. This person will work closely with technical Enterprise Architects to understand their roadmaps and, also, work closely with change agents to help them make optimal use of current and planned technical capabilities/functions provided by information technology.

This Business Architect will help our organization do a better job aligning the strategic discussions of all business lines and functional groups.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Collaborate with the business and IT teams to create and manage the following:
  • Enterprise capability models that depict the competencies of various lines of business and functional areas at high level
  • Functional domain models dedicated to a specified line of business or functional area
  • Capability Resource (people, process, technology and equipment) consumption map
  • Collaborates on the creation, adoption of the strategic planning taxonomy and namespace standards
  • Collaborates on the creation, management and approval of content and document management standards.
  • Work with Business Relationship Leads, business analysts and IT architects to plan, coordinate and facilitate strategic workshops
  • Assist in the management and maintenance of an Enterprise Architecture modeling tool and architecture repository
  • Manage and maintain relationships with key business and IT stakeholder across the organization and stay abreast of up and coming aspirations that will have architectural dependencies
  • Other duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • Master's degree in computer science, data certifications, information systems or other related field - preferred


TECHNICAL SKILLS/SOFT SKILLS:

  • Experience working with modeling and reporting tools
  • Familiarity with SDLC process and frameworks
  • Strong conceptual, analytic, and expert problem-solving skills
  • Motivated to work in a new and growing environment
  • Strong mentoring and training skills
  • Strategic thinking and leadership with strong abilities in relationship management, influence and conveys an approachable demeanor


EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 years' experience modeling and/or reporting on operational trends and/or patterns - required
  • 2 years' experience developing and maintaining policies, procedures, standards and guidelines - required
  • Experience working closely with enterprise transformation efforts - required
  • Experience building current state blueprint, future state roadmaps, process flows and/or operational support documentation - preferred
  • Experience working with business intelligence tools and reporting on trends - preferred
  • Experience working for Audit, Tax and/or Business Consulting agency - preferred
  • Expertise in developing and architecting solutions in a collaborative environment, as well as significant experience in multiple computing environments, utilizing tools and techniques to effect business change - preferred


LEADERSHIP SKILLS:

  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work effectively with business managers, IT Applications teams, IT engineering and IT operations staff.
  • Ability to influence without authority.
  • Ability to build strong relationships across lines of business, functional areas, and outside vendors.
  • Provide thought leadership through innovative ideas, business and technology trends, competitive analysis and internal collaboration
  • Stay informed of current industry best practices; working with clients and internal cross-functional teams to apply best practices where appropriate
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively across the entire organization.
  • Ability to be seen as a leader and SME of data technologies for architecture and project teams, management and business personnel.
