As an EM Bench Technician I, you'll troubleshoot, test, and repair equipment, recycling and refurbishing when appropriate, reordering parts to ensure consistent stock, and maintain records as required.

We are looking for:
- a related degree or comparable formal training, certification, or experience; 0+ years of experience
What is the work?
Troubleshooting / Testing / Repair & Replacement:
- Depending on experience level, may learn or perform some or all of the work at this level
- Receives equipment in need of repair from Logistics
- Sorts devices based on condition / warranty status
- Accurately diagnoses and triages devices prior to repair
- Repairs / cleans devices based on triaged conditions based on the standards set by Depot Manager
- Tests / verifies post-repair device functionality
- Sanitizes device data as needed
- Packages / ships devices
- Recycles / salvages device and components as needed
- Monitors company communication channels (e.g., Email, Teams, Salesforce)
- Works with support teams to configure IT infrastructure
- Works with Logistics to fulfill refurbished equipment
- Initiates warranty process via various channels (portal, email, telephone); ensures warranty is approved and all equipment is returned; coordinates with vendor for onsite repair as needed
- Provisions iOS and Android mobile devices via Mobile Device Manager
- Ensures transferred items are properly entered into the parts system
- Ensures proper cash handling procedures when applicable
- Maintains accurate inventory of equipment; conducts scheduled audits
- Maintains a clean and orderly workstation
- Maintains proper inventory levels of replacement parts; re-orders when below safety stock
- Follows SOPs; accurately records repair tickets
- Equipment list includes POS keyboards, laser printers / multifunction devices, cash drawers, scanner scales, wired / Bluetooth hand scanners , IP cameras, public view monitors, mobile phones / tablets, Cisco / Aruba Switches, servers, desktops, laptops, cash / coin recyclers, label printers, thermal receipt printers, time clocks, document scanners
What is your background?
- A related degree or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience
- 0+ years of experience
- Certification in electronics or electrical technology (preferred)
Do you have what it takes to be a fit as an EM Bench Tech I at H-E-B?
- Working knowledge of electronic theory and related equipment (e.g., hand tools, power supplies, circuit boards, multimeters)
- Troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Customer service skills
- Verbal / written communication skills
- Time management and organization skills; focused attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
