Ideal teammates will have worked in aerospace, medical devices, defense contracting, or other high-performance or high-reliability industries utilizing standards such as AS9100.  They will have a detailed understanding of system function down to the component level, able to troubleshoot both system level electro-mechanical defects (like motion control units) and component level defects (like capacitors and contractors).

They will ideally have trained junior associates to follow in their footsteps and contributed to or generated themselves a library of troubleshooting guides, manufacturing work instructions, or other permanent processes that power the organization long after their direct involvement.  They will typically have had broad but direct hands-on involvement from the New Product Introduction phase all the way to Low-Rate Initial Production.

What You'll Do

  • Use industry standard mechanical/electrical tools and equipment to build up new assemblies that will launch new distribution centers.
  • Utilize electrical PPE to work safely and efficiently with voltages up to 700 VDC.
  • For field returns and new material, test assemblies for proper function, perform detailed root-causing of failures, and perform/document rework.
  • Create new product records in MES (Manufacturing Execution System) database.
  • Build up standard kits that will be used in the field to execute build or repair activities.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis while also being able to delicately solder wires together or perform high-quality crimps on 24g wires.
  • Read and interpret schematics to validate wiring and terminations.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and validate complex electrical systems both in a manufacturing environment and in the field.
  • Support domestic and international teammates with technical troubleshooting and advice on electrical failures.

What You'll Bring

  • Prior experience with implementing high voltage (>700VAC) systems.
  • Prior experience with both high current power and signals cable terminations in safety-critical systems.
  • Familiarity with NFPA 79 Electrical Standard for Industrial Machinery and a strong ability to learn other associated codes
  • Prior technical experience working at a company with high-reliability electrical practices.  Industries may include aviation, aerospace, automotive, and medical devices.
  • Experience working cross-functionally to diagnose a wide range issues ranging from supplied material to field operator best practices.
  • Strong experience owning an end-to-end troubleshooting and repair process.  Should have  an ability to articulate failure modes and root causes for quality issues generated both internally and from outside sources.
  • A culture of quality in all aspects of the manufacturing process ranging from finish of supplied material to proper crimping of wires and torquing of screws.
  • An ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • You must be able to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing).
  • Must be eligible to work in the US.
