EH&S Sustainability Representative
Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
Mettler Toledo's Masstron Producing Organization is hiring an Environmental Health and Safety Sustainability Representative to ensure compliance for all environmental health and safety policies and procedures for employees at our Heavy Industrial facility. In addition, you will help schedule or conduct necessary trainings to help with process improvements. As our EH&S Sustainability Representative you will be at the forefront of our Mettler Toledo Green initiatives with the goal of reducing our environmental impact in a sustainable fashion.
Your responsibilities in this role include, but are not limited to:
- Build working relationships with the plant management, supervisors, production teams and their SME's (Subject Matter Experts).
- Be hands on, proactive and highly visible while driving all safety initiative/
Conduct weekly EHS audits and manage the monthly ECAP meetings. - Provide Safety training to employees including new hire training, visitor safety training and annual OSHA safety trainings.
- Train and implement SafeStart training to all employees as a primary workplace safety human error reduction training. Get certified as a SafeStart trainer.
- Report and document each Safety incident and submit the monthly Safety report. Lead the Root Cause Analysis for all incident investigations while including Supervisors, Area SME and the affected individual.
- Responsible for leading all EHS activities such as weekly Safety audits, weekly eye wash station inspections and monthly fire extinguisher inspections.
- Conduct weekly Safety Safari audits in each Production area with the participation of the area Supervisor or SME.
- Perform annual Fire and Severe Weather evacuation drills. Maintain evacuation records. Continuously improve the evacuation procedures.
- Initiate and lead a monthly Safety meeting involving Supervisors and other safety motivated employees as well as our
Safety Improvement Plan - Ensure the plant hazardous waste handling practices are in compliance with the Ohio EPA policies.
- Participate and eventually lead the MT Green team to achieve our MTMS Green sustainability goals.
- Initiate and implement plans to improve all EHS non-conformances to comply with OSHA Safety policies and review and update all EHS Policies and Procedures.
What You Need to Succeed
- A Bachelors degree in Environmental Science/ Safety Management is strongly preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in related industry is desired.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
