Summary/Objective: The EHS Coordinator will work with the EHS Facilities Manager and the local management team to develop, implement, and ensure compliance to, environmental, health and safety plans, programs, and procedures. This role will also assist in ensuring employees, visitors, and customers are safe while working at the IDEX Energy AFS Oklahoma City facility.

Essential Functions

  • Coordination of EHS activities at the IDEX Energy Advanced Flow Solutions, Oklahoma City facility.
  • Assist in ensuring conformance to AFS and IDEX safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in ensuring business is complying with federal, state, and local EHS regulations by interpreting standards, enforcing adherence to regulation and advising management on needed actions.
  • Lead hazard assessment processes, including JHA, ergonomic and PPE assessments. Educates engineering, maintenance, and production in conducting and updating assessments and associated improvements.
  • Conduct periodic EHS compliance audits of operations in coordination with local managers and prepare associated corrective action plans; provide guidance and support in connection with audit findings; and assist in tracking audit findings to resolution.
  • Manage and ensure the AFS EHS data collection systems are in place and reported into Archer. As part of this, lead development, maintenance, and communication of EHS metrics as required.
  • Maintain, review, and report safety trends, issues, and concerns.
  • Prepare, maintain, and submit required environmental permit applications/renewals and routine agency reports, (e.g., air emissions, wastewater, hazardous waste, etc.)
  • Ensure terms and conditions in plant environmental permits are understood and complied with.
  • Coordinate all plant hazardous and universal waste disposal activities to ensure compliance with applicable regulations
  • Assist in implementation of an effective employee safety awareness programs.
  • Conduct employee training related to EHS matters.
  • Support ISO 14001 certification and other continuous improvement efforts in effect from time-to-time
  • Any other duties as assigned.


Required Education and Experience

  • BS degree in environmental or safety, or a related discipline
  • Knowledge of state and federal environmental, health, & safety laws and regulations (e.g. DOT, EPA, DEQ, OSHA, , etc.)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
  • Effective communication skills (oral and written), including the ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs., to stand for long periods of time, and to bend, lift, twist to meet the physical demands of the position. Work schedules may include extended work hours
  • Ability to work independently in the absence of supervision.


Preferred Education and Experience

  • 2-5 years' experience working in the Environmental, Health and Safety field
  • Certified Safety Professional

None

Work Environment

  • Office and shop floor environment where exposure to chemicals and noise (level may vary from office level to noisy in plant area) is expected.
  • Occasionally handle heavy parts and equipment.
  • Proper use of safety equipment such as steel-toed shoes, goggles, safety glasses, gloves, apron and face shield must be worn as needed.
  • Periodic equipment testing responsibilities in both indoor and outdoor labs utilizing various fluids and gases (EDM fluid, solvents, propane, natural gas).
