Leads major functional projects with work reviewed only for achievement of results. Work often impacts multiple BUs, Region or Asset Class. Extensive knowledge of the work function.
Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of E&A Seal Expert through October 9th at 11:59 p.m. Central Standard Time

The role requires that the successful candidate deliver business impact and develop differentiated Exploration Seal Quality analysis with a focus on exploration-scale seal and trap issues and compartmentalization.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Work closely with GOM Exploration and Asset Development teams as well as other experts to provide evaluations of seal, overpressure and compartmentalization for exploration prospects and development projects.
  • Present seal and trap evaluations for exploration prospects to the BU review process and the Exploration Review Team.
  • Deliver regional studies of fluid pressure distribution in Chevron's core areas of the GOM.
  • Mentor Chevron geoscientists on the topics of seal, overpressure and reservoir compartmentalization.



Required Qualifications:

  • Education: minimum MS degree in structural geology, stratigraphy, or basin-scale fluid flow
  • 5+ years of prior seal and trap analysis experience
  • Analytical skills & technical knowledge of: evaluating trap and seal risks and hydrocarbon column height uncertainty, pore pressure analysis, structural compartmentalization
  • Prior knowledge of industry standard seal technologies is expected.
  • Position may require travel to domestic or international Chevron or third-party locations to fulfill job responsibilities, consultation, and technical work.



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior work experience in Salt Tectonics and/or Gulf of Mexico Geology.
  • Teaching or mentoring skills
  • Education / Certifications: MS degree with some cross-functional component (i.e., structural geology, and/or stratigraphy)
  • Other differentiating skills and experience will also be considered.
