As part of this mission, Chewy Health is hiring a Director, Veterinary Relations to join our Healthcare Team based in Plantation, FL. This leader will own defining and implementing our strategy for engaging the veterinarian community to establish and reinforce Chewy’s commitment to veterinarians and to the growth of the veterinary profession.  Additionally, this leader will act as the key liaison and advocate to key industry influencers, medical associations, and trade associations, as well as act as a subject matter expert and advisor for the Chewy health leadership team.  The Director, Veterinary Relations will be a team leader and mentor in a high-pace environment demanding clear and effective leadership. 

What you'll do:

  • Develop comprehensive vision and strategy to engage the veterinarian community to help position and reinforce Chewy as a key partner to the industry
  • Develop relationships and act as a key liaison with key influencers in the veterinary profession, national veterinary medical associations, veterinary colleges, and other relevant business and professional associations
  • Provide comprehensive knowledge of Chewy Health product and services to the veterinary community
  • Manage our trade show, influencer and university engagement strategies and programs, coordinating across multiple partner teams to ensure flawless execution
  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise both internally and externally, including boardroom and industry conference presentations, and assist and advise business development efforts with current and ongoing Chewy platforms
  • Partner with our sales and business development teams to advocate on behalf of Chewy Healthcare product and service offerings
  • Consult, review and advise on editorial and PR content in veterinarian publications
  • Provide insights and expertise to internal product development teams to create new and innovative products and services supporting the veterinary community
  • Set and manage our veterinary relations and industry engagement budgets
  • Lead and develop a world class team of program managers; Partner with recruiting to identify and close top talent

What you'll need:

  • 8+ years’ of small animal Veterinarian experience, combination of corporate experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence within the vet community
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable in a fast paced, self-starter environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree, MBA preferred
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD) preferred
  • Up to 20% Travel required
