Job Description

As a Director of Technical Operations (TechOps), you will lead and coordinate all systems and service needs across the product under your watch. You will be responsible for translating TechOps strategy into tactical priorities and daily operations. You will assess operational capabilities and performance to ensure the delivery of quality products and services on time to all customers internal and external. You must excel at supporting Daxko’s daily operations and develop a strategic systems IT roadmap.

This position reports to the Vice President of Technical Operations.

What you'll be responsible for...

  • Managing 10+ leaders and individual contributors ongoing performance and engagement
  • Building and sustaining a culture of collaboration and teamwork in order to maintain a flow of information between key leadership and teams
  • Chief communicator- cascading regular communications
  • Assessing where gaps exist and develop skill sets
  • Reviewing processes and make adjustments to improve team efficiency
  • Prioritizing team members’ schedules by establishing meeting norms
  • Serving as a representative on Daxko market councils: collaborating with leaders of engineering and product to assure company alignment
  • Responsible for defining team roadmaps
  • Overseeing progress in achieving operational/production goals and objectives, especially with respect to quality, cost, and customer service
  • Anticipating needs and initiates development and implementation of new technology and approaches
  • Providing strategic direction for operations utilizing these new approaches
  • Uptime, data accuracy, and integrity
  • Collaborating with compliance team to ensure operations are in full compliance with all company and regulatory requirements
  • Providing strategic leadership for Daxko’s production infrastructure
  • Budget Responsibilities: Ensuring fiscal responsibility for production hosting and software licensing needs. Seeking cost-cutting opportunities for the department.

Qualifications

  • Ten (10+) years of relevant experience
  • Proven team leadership experience of a team of people
  • Experience leading Cloud (AWS, Azure) or traditional datacenter teams
  • Experience making data-driven decisions for teams and infrastructure
  • Strong technical operations background
  • Passion for continuous improvement in Daxko’s technical operations
  • Strategic Manager and Organizer
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering or similar field or relevant work experience

Bonus points for:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering or similar field
  • Thirteen (13+) years of relevant experience
  • Background as Site Reliability or System Engineer
  • Experience with distributed systems concepts and design
