The Opportunity
The role of Director of Curriculum, Development is responsible for charting the direction of Pluralsight's strategically-curated content offerings for its designated content domains, across all content mediums supported by the Pluralsight platform. The Director of Curriculum brings a unique combination of subject matter expertise and curriculum development and management skills to bear in developing and leading our curriculum direction efforts. The Director of Curriculum works closely with counterparts across the Experience Organization to bring defined curriculum and content partnership initiatives to market, support strategic sales- and marketing-enablement efforts across the company, and also plays a key role in customer and partner-facing initiatives.

What you'll own:
- Curriculum leadership and direction of all areas of software development. This is to include:
- Translating high-level topical coverage decisions from the VP, Developer Skills, into lists of specific courses that will be commissioned by the Director, Skills Content from our author network.
- Providing recommendations on granular coverage decisions to the VP, Developer Skills.
- Establishing and maintaining coverage plans per topic, as well as reusable course design patterns that are used as a first-stage planning tool by external authors.
- Formulating, publishing and maintaining curriculum roadmaps for all supported content domains, across all platform-supported content types
- Analyzing course performance and making retirement/update/refresh recommendations to the VP, Developer Skills.
- Work directly with external "topical champions" who, as subject matter experts, help devise the lists of courses we need in each topic in order to meet our coverage targets.
- Collaborating with other teams to develop tooling and workflows for the implementation of curriculum plans across all stages of the content creation pipeline
- Management of a team of 2-4 Curriculum Managers
Experience you'll need:
- A solid understanding of instructional design techniques and approaches, along with experience in "what works" and "doesn't" work in the area of self-paced, computer-based learning
- A demonstrated ability to rapidly research, analyze and comprehend the necessary topical areas at a planning level
- Strong, demonstrated leadership with the ability to effectively manage direct reports and help with their professional development
- Familiarity with audio and video production, or other types of graphical communication
- Experience building and maintaining dashboards, and running data queries, in tools like Tableau and Snowflake
- Experience using web-based project management tooling such as Asana and Monday.com
