DIRECTOR, SYSTEMS ANALYSIS
Job Description:
As a Director, Systems Analyst within the EI DCS Infrastructure Solutions Engineering team, your responsibilities will include providing consultative guidance to business units designing compute and storage solutions to meet application and database needs. This role is to provide leadership, oversight, and direction to business units to design compute and storage solutions while following Fidelity's strategic IT direction and approved engineered solutions. The solutions designed will include externally hosted cloud solutions through AWS and Azure as well as solutions hosted on premise in Fidelity's data center. The role will also consist of leading systems analysis for multiple projects/programs with diverse scope and very complex business/technical problems, across subsystems in a matrix organization to develop recommendations that address difficult and complex business needs and opportunities.
- Expected to drive tasks such as analysis of current and future application and infrastructure support requirements and platform resiliency
- Collaborate on stability solutions in close partnership with multiple application development and architecture teams in the Enterprise
- Ensure there is clear and concise documentation created for all support processes
- Work with a globally dispersed team
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Ability to partner with application and database teams to design a resilient and stable platform to host applications/databases
- In-depth experience working with day-to-day sys-admin tasks on different operating systems and on externally hosted cloud solutions in AWS and Azure
- Strong technical understanding and ability to research and learn new technologies
- Understanding of project life cycle methodology and development/operation best practices
- Ability to think strategically and set technical direction
- Hands-on understanding of DevOps practices, knowledge of software development lifecycle & CI/CD processes
- Knowledge and understanding of AWS and Azure common services and how they map to different solutions and frameworks
- Should have working knowledge of containerization tools and understand Docker and Kubernetes
- Knowledge of cybersecurity in the context of the public cloud (AWS, Azure)
- The ability to communicate with people at all levels of cloud knowledge from none to expert
- Strong leadership and interpersonal prioritization skills
- Technical and analytical experience as a lead support engineer with demonstrated achievements in server systems technologies, operating systems such as Linux, Windows, VMware and Openstack
