Director, Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility
We’re seeking a Director of Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility to join us in our mission to transform the way therapeutics and materials are discovered. This is a new function within Corporate Affairs at a company committed to prioritizing sustainability, corporate social responsibility, and DEI initiatives.
Schrödinger has pioneered a physics-based software platform that enables discovery of high-quality, novel molecules for drug development and materials applications more rapidly and at lower cost compared to traditional methods. The software platform is used by biopharmaceutical and industrial companies, academic institutions, and government laboratories around the world. Schrödinger’s multidisciplinary drug discovery team also leverages the software platform to advance collaborative programs and its own pipeline of novel therapeutics to address unmet medical needs.

What you’ll do:
- Formalize the company’s sustainability and CSR program, including developing policies, setting metrics, tracking progress, and reporting on the program internally and externally
- Partner with organizational leaders to develop, oversee, direct, and manage CSR and ESG policies, programs, practices and goals
- Establish, measure, and report key performance indicators that demonstrate Schrödinger’s progress against its CSR/ESG objectives
- Lead Schrödinger’s CSR and ESG reports, including leading project management, editorial direction, and narrative with contributions from relevant business leaders
- Provide ongoing editorial leadership for key communications platforms, including company website, blog, and social media channels
- Serve as communications subject matter expert and collaborate with communications colleagues on media engagements
- Manage ESG-related issues for the business as needed
- Proactively identify issues, risks, and trends that can affect Schrödinger and its ability to deliver and engage across sustainability topics
- Participate in key industry events to benchmark and track leading practices
- Track developments in social and environmental laws and regulations that may impact the company
- Partner with key stakeholders across the company to ensure clear, consistent communications around the company’s CSR/ESG initiatives
What you should have:
- At least ten years of expertise and knowledge in the field, including an understanding of global trends and leading practices
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree related to CSR or sustainability preferred)
- SASB and/or GRI sustainability certification
- Demonstrated program success in achieving positive social and environmental impacts and building corporate leadership profile and brand awareness, preferably at a public company
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong project and budget management expertise, with superb attention to detail
- Excellent organizational acumen
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally on occasion
