About the Role:

The Director, Strategic Initiatives focuses on achieving business results by leading the planning and implementation of solutions that ensure long term success and profitability of the company.  The Director, Strategic Initiatives ensures that programs and projects are aligned with the company strategic mission and objectives.

The Director, Strategic Initiatives works across business units and interfaces with business partners to ensure projects and project goals are met and benefits are realized.  Facilitates the planning and scoping; establishes and review program and project goals, and oversees strategic projects.  Provides leadership and management to project managers leading strategic initiatives that are part of the strategic initiative portfolio.


What You’ll Do:

Strategic Program Management and Portfolio Management:

  • Lead and drive the business operation strategic planning process.
  • Assist senior leadership in the initial phase of project planning by developing project concept, gathering requirements, defining project scope, developing project charter and business justification.
  • Ensure strategic initiative goals and objectives are properly cascaded to relevant stakeholders.
  • Identify, evaluate, document and recommend on strategic initiatives risks.
  • Build robust business cases to support ROI analysis of strategic initiatives and other business related requests Establish communication channels to keep stakeholders informed.
  • Lead and manage the PMs creating, communicating, implementing and sustaining strategic initiatives.
  • Provide support to business units in the procurement of tools that support core business processes.

Business Performance & Reporting:

  • Work with business units and the decision intelligence team to enhance, maintain and improve business units operating reports.
  • Review and analyze the strategic initiative portfolio performance to ensure it is balanced and meeting business goals.
  • Report on strategic initiative performance to ensure expected benefits are met.
  • Document and analyze service processes, evaluate service performance, Review and analyze cost structure, Evaluate service demand.
  • Work with business units and the decision intelligence team to enhance, maintain and improve business units operating reports.
  • Review and analyze the strategic initiative portfolio performance to ensure it is balanced and meeting business goals.
  • Report on strategic initiative performance to ensure expected benefits are met.
  • Document and analyze service processes, evaluate service performance, review and analyze cost structure, evaluate service demand.

Change Management Process:

  • Collect and maintain Trace3 business process and new system requirement, change requests.
  • Conduct and facilitate monthly Change Management Committee meetings.
  • Track approved change requests to completion and inform the Change Management Committee of progress.
  • Administer emergency Change Management process when priority requests are received out of cycle.
  • Support the Functional Lead process, to include maintaining the Executive nomination listing.
  • Track Change Management KPI’s and report on a quarterly basis.

Qualifications & Interests:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years of experience leading and managing strategic initiatives
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience facilitating workshops and group meetings
  • Strong critical and analytical thinking
  • Results oriented ownership mentality
  • Self-motivated, self-assured, and self-managed.
  • Proven ability to manage vendor relationships and hold them accountable to deliverables and budgets
  • Ability to influence, negotiate, and resolve conflict
  • Works collaboratively with cross-functional teams in delivering programs' or projects' goals
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
