Primary Purpose:

Responsible for five major areas under the direction of the System Vice President for Service Line Administration: 1) Ensures the work of all ten system service lines meets deadlines, achieves targted results, and ensures stakeholder awareness and communication objectives are met. 2) Directs staff reporting to this position in their support of Service Line Vice Presidents to meet the annual strategic objectives of each service line. 3) Under executive direction, develop strong relationships with market leadership, medical group administration/clinicians to facilitate interaction and Patient Service Area stategic objectives as they correlate with service line initiatives. 4) Direct and organize the processes, implementation, optimization, and operational discipline of routine, episodic and strategic initiatives affecting system service lines. 5) Integrate service line strategies promoting system standardization and efficiency with key system-level strategies throughout AAH in collaboration with operational leaders (PSA Presidents, Hospital Presidents, Hospital and Medical group CMOs) to achieve service line goals.

Ensure projects are delivered on-time, within budget, adhere to the highest quality standards, meet expectations, and are maintained with administrative discipline. Serve as the key integration leadership role to surface best practices throughout service lines and scale them for the benefit of the fully integrated medical group.

Major Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for initiating and maintaining dialog within each service line to ensure objectives and strategic initiatives are being met . Works with executive and medical group leadership to identify opportunities, develop organizational strategies and implement tactics that enhance service line effectivness. Develops and issues organizational tools to provide service lines with the information needed to achive targeted results.
  • Serves in a key leadership support role to Service Line System Vice President dyad leadership to drive results, effective communiction and standardization of enterprise wide service line initiatives.
  • Develops and operationalizes a long-range course of action and set of goals and ensures synergies between people, process, and strategies to drive execution of service line objectives. Collaborates with the market and medical group administrative leadership to ensure communication, execution of all initiatives, and alignment with service line strategies. Keeps executive level stakeholders informed of key initiatives by presenting at committee meetings and through the development and distribution of metrics reports.
  • Partners with senior medical group and market leaders to establish service line strategic initatives and set performance goals. Works closely with Finance and Decision Support to measure and evaluate current processes and applications to ensure service line performance and guide further strategic goals.
  • Provides direction and manages leadership team to support the integrated service line structure to achieve targets and timelines for five identified areas of responsibility. Provides oversight and direction to the system service lines and facilitates execution and support for the deployment of key standards and initiatives. Ensures alignment and coordination for service line initiatives to successfully achieve effective fiscal management and strategic goals.
  • Identifies opportunities to optimize existing work processes, information systems, as well as develops new systems and procedures, including validated best practices, to deploy across the enterprise, in order to take full advantage of all opportunities to improve growth, performance, and reach operational excellence.
  • Provides updates and communicates key information to executive stakeholders to support alignment of initiatives across the enterprise. Collaborates directly with leadership on new service line initiatives, projects, and opportunities.
  • Aligns initiatives with AAH's strategic goals and ensures initiatives, approaches, and models are in compliance with local, state and federal regulations as applicable. Performs quality assurance, utilization review processes, institutes measures as well as develops and maintains accurate portfolios, to ensure required standards are met, and a high level of efficiency is achieved.
  • Monitors newly sustained service line activities system wide, and uses effective tools and techniques toward analyzing results, addressing opportunities and achieving maximum effectiveness.
  • Leads system wide groups to achieve standardization and integration across the enterprise to improve efficiency, financial outcomes and clinical workforce resources. Oversees the design, implementation and ongoing management of programs initiated out of service lines.
  • Performs human resources responsibilities for staff which include interviewing and selection of new employees, promotions, staff development, performance evaluations, compensation changes, resolution of employee concerns, corrective actions, terminations, and overall employee morale.
  • Develops and recommends operating and capital budgets and controls expenditures within approved budget objectives.
  • Responsible for understanding and adhering to the organization's Code of Ethical Conduct and for ensuring that personal actions, and the actions of employees supervised, comply with the policies, regulations and laws applicable to the organization's business.
