Position Summary:
The Director of Security Operations promotes a secure, defensible, security culture throughout the organization. They develop and maintain a reputation at Pax8 for being a Security and Compliance thought leader by creating original content and promoting personal and Pax8 personas in the MSP, SMB, and Mid-Market business arenas. The Director works internally with current Pax8 Brand owners and visionaries to serve their KBO for maintaining brand image. They focus on preventing IT-based crime, hacking, intentional or inadvertent modification, disclosure, or destruction to our information systems, IT assets, and intellectual property.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Develops and leads risk assessment activities to identify and correct conditions of security and compliance risk
- Directs Security Operations strategy, roadmap, and budget globally with other Security Operations teams
- Provides subject matter expertise on security, privacy, and risk topics relative to the business, while cross training team members for their personal and professional development
- Provides recommendations, review oversight, and authorship for a library of Security and Compliance policies
- Plans and documents risk with business impact assessments, security backups, business continuity planning, and system disaster
- Develop, coach, mentor, and train direct reports including making hiring decisions, evaluating performance, giving feedback at weekly 1:1’s, and effectively running meetings
- Plans, deploys, supports, and directs a robust security stack for corporate operations
- Ensures a comprehensive event logging and alerting framework that covers all major threat vectors
- Takes ownership of major incident response efforts and war room coordination
Ideal Skills, Experience, and Competencies:
- At least ten (10) to twelve (12) years of experience in a Security Operations role
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Prior experience successfully managing people
- Successfully builds collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders to meet shared objectives
- Proven ability to consistently achieve results, even under tough circumstances
- Ability to paint a compelling picture of the vision and strategy that motivates others to action
- Ability to gain the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticity
- Ability to plan and prioritize work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals
Required Education & Certifications:
- B.A./B.S. in related field or equivalent work experience
Compensation:
- Qualified candidates can expect a salary beginning at $175,000 or more depending on experience

*Note: Compensation is benchmarked on local Denver Metro area market rates. Qualified candidates in other locations can expect a salary package that may be adjusted based off applicable cost of wages in their respective location.
