Your New Role...
The Warner Bros Discovery (WBD) Director for Production Procurement is responsible leading and managing the Production category within WBD Procurement on a global basis. The category includes both physical & digital production, including all associated goods and services. The role works with both Content Supply Chain Procurement and business unit leadership to develop and implement sourcing strategies and manage supplier relationships globally. The role drives formalized sourcing best practices and abides by Company standards, policies and procedures. This position is charged with proactively partnering with internal clients to drive margin improvements, improve operational efficiency, enhance supply chain resiliency, reduce risk and pursue other value drivers as defined by stakeholders. The role also has ownership for specific business unit/geographic client relationship management with key vendor spend business units/geographies and is expected to collaborate with peers in supporting global and local teams. Warner Bros Discovery (WBD) Director for Production Procurement will report to the Head of Content Supply Chain Procurement.
Your Role Accountabilities...
Leadership
- Develops mid-to long range sourcing strategic plans that (1) links to company-wide vision, (2) takes into account global versus regional approach versus local approach, and (3) prioritizes efforts for maximum contribution for margin improvement and achieve best total value for business units/geographies for their goods and/or services requirements.
- Demonstrates and practices a high degree of professional integrity and ethical responsibility in all business activities.
- Leads change and creates development opportunities to build a diverse pool of talent and holds project teams accountable for achieving results.
- Nutures team with eye towards ongoing professional development & skills/capabilities building.
- Maintains a strong external focus to inform Procurement strategy by leveraging industry peers and professional organizations and regular industry benchmarking, assessing best practices, innovation and being involved in industry forums.
Stakeholder/Internal Customer Management
- Partners with key internal clients for alignment of business priorities across multiple sourcing categories and be the conduit/liaison on behalf of global sourcing team.
- Provides internal consulting expertise to senior management in the practice of strategic sourcing, best practices, and external marketplace or innovative trends.
- Builds effective relationships to enable fast alignment and roll out communications.
- Actively participates in business strategy reviews.
- Leads periodic review meetings to develop action plans, seek input, share results, re-prioritize projects.
Category Management
- Leads global Production category strategy development, aligning cross-divisional and cross-geography requirements against clear and measurable goals.
- Develops category strategy recommendations in a concise and persuasive fashion and leads implementation of sourcing strategy (sole source or short-list negotiations, leverage added scope, competitive bidding, eSourcing tools, catalogs, reverse auctions, etc.).
- Accountable for the delivery of category savings targets thro collaboration and engagement with business stakeholders.
- Conducts and coaches others to execute against category strategy with full understanding of potential shortfalls and risk mitigation plans. Develops and compiles required business case for new ideals, including execution of Request for Information (RFI), Request for Quotation (RFQ) or Request for Proposals (RFP).
Supplier Selection/Management
- Leads the development of global or multi-national supplier industry analysis when developing global sourcing strategies.
- Uses depth of knowledge of suppliers to gain insights which are not obvious nor widely held that improve Warner Media's competitive advantage.
- Partners with Supplier Diversity efforts to creatively include diverse vendors in supplier selection processes and creatively grow existing diverse vendor spend.
- Leads environmentally friendly purchase efforts to support Warner Bros Discoveries sustainability efforts.
Negotiations, Contract Creation & Management
- Leads and develops multi-pronged negotiation strategies, contract analyses, and sourcing communications and meetings.
- Collaborates with stakeholders and legal counsel to lead global negotiations and contract coordination to ensure all geography-specific requirements are captured.
- Views new and existing opportunities from different angles to identify fresh and original ways of tapping those opportunities to get maximum return
Sourcing-Driven Project Management
- Identifies, implements and manages large scale, complex projects across business units and geographies - may involve outsourcing analysis and total cost of ownership considerations.
- Identifies opportunities where project management expertise needs to be implemented and works to ensure that those involved in key projects are managing them optimally.
Qualifications & Experience...
- The successful Director is a professional with 10+ years strategy and sourcing experience in a sophisticated sourcing environment with demonstrated people-management experience.
- Must have solid experience and highly developed subject matter expertise in Production processes and procurement.
- Must have demonstrated success in leading and developing teams as well as influencing key decision makers.
- Strong business acumen required to be conversant in changing marketplace and the ability to bring new perspectives and insight to our business partners.
- Must have extensive knowledge and relationships with suppliers and service providers.
- Must be knowledgeable of, and experienced in, application of Strategic Sourcing and Procurement best practices.
- Must have proven project management experience, excellent communication skills, advanced computer literacy, ability to analyze and resolve complex issues, and a team building work style for a fast-paced, global environment.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or a technical major is required, Masters preferred.
- Experience in the Media & Entertainment industry with exposure to content creation & distribution is required
- Professional accreditation in sourcing / procurement preferred
- Focus on teamwork and cross functional collaboration
- Ability to function effectively in a matrixed organization
- Experience working across geographies and managing effective teams remotely
- High level of organization skills and attention to detail
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office & various ERP systems
- Strong communication skills to interact within all levels of the company, in a concise and clear manner
- Understanding of the supplier landscape across major categories of spend; industry and/or professional relationships with vendors in these categories a plus
- Proficiency in developing and guiding complex RFPs and conducting complex bid analysis required
- Strong supplier management/performance measurement monitoring experience
- Advanced analytical skills and demonstrated application of category-specific best practices.
- Demonstrated contract and agreement negotiation experience, including development of negotiating strategies
- Excellent written, oral and presentation skills and an ability to synthesize complex and technical information into concise and clear recommendation
- Willingness to bring thought leadership, a creative mindset, and a fresh perspective on new ways to approach existing problems

The Legal Bits...
In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. $116,060.00 - $215,540.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
