The Director is responsible for the execution of the show; carrying out the producers vision for that production. The Director is responsible for the presentation of Visual ,Graphical, and Audio elements to tell the story of that particular show. The show director will be asked to Direct in Live and Taped show environments across all platforms: Linear and Digital. A strong candidate will have the understanding of Studio and Control room technology and automated rundown functionality. The show director will be asked to cover shifts across a 24/7 programming schedule including Breaking News.
The Daily Expectations:

• 75 % Show Meetings/ Production Mtgs / Show Execution
• 20 % Show Prep/ Graphics Prep
• 5% Mentoring/ SOP/ Staff
• Responsible for upholding the "Look and feel" of the show while also being proactive to add creative production elements as needed.
• Communicate across all departments (Production, Graphics, Talent, Studio Ops, and Technical Ops) to successfully have the resources to execute the show vision.
• Provide constructive feedback on SOP, employee job performance, and production variables
• Lead the control room communicating in an effective professional manner with crew and management.
• Use your knowledge of studio and control room technology to enhance the broadcast.
• Approximately 15% travel to locations.
Job Essentials or Equivalents :
• 5+ years in a live production environment.
• Directed live or pre-produced content in a multi camera studio environment for 4+ years
• Control Room workflow and technical knowledge is a must.
• Basic understanding of show blocking
• Substantial experience with Computer Based Format / Rundowns
• Display a creative leadership approach in your directing to deliver high quality results in a pressured/fast paced show environment
• Communication Skills: clear, concise communication skills whether it's written or verbal and can tailor and present your ideas to a wide variety of audiences above and below job title
• You're an expert multi-tasker who can shift between concurrent assignments, prioritize effectively, and adapt quickly to changing priorities, assignments, and roles under pressure
• Remote Truck Experience preferred but not required
• College Degree or relevant experience in Journalism, Communications, or TV Production preferred
• The Director is the Control Room Leader across Studio, Control Rooms, and Production Meetings
• Understanding that Sports is a 24/7 -breaking news environment
• NBA / Basketball knowledge would be an advantage to success in this position.
