The Role

We seek a policy and advocacy expert who has a passion to help improve the day to day lives and health outcomes for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

This is an opportunity to help State Medicaid organizations understand how to do things differently. We seek a subject matter expert who can articulate the data and the stories that will enable better experiences, better services and better health outcomes for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Who we are looking for

  • A positive, growth-oriented mindset
  •  A subject matter expert on Medicaid with significant relationships across the landscape of stakeholders
  • Experience in the Human Services field
  • Significant experience developing, launching and overseeing advocacy initiatives
  • 7+ years of increasingly responsible roles in the policy and advocacy field
  • Bachelor level degree with education relevant to policy and advocacy, Master level degree preferred

What you will do

  • Develop our overall policy and advocacy program for the Intellectual and Developmental Disability field
  • Plan, implement and carry out a policy and advocacy initiative that achieves meaningful change for the Intellectual and Developmental Disability population
  • Assess effectiveness of policy and advocacy initiatives and adjust our approach as needed
  • Help the internal team understand the policy positions we take and the rationale that supports them
