Description

The Director, Operations, Tim Hortons US, is responsible for leading a team in operations analytics, restaurant technology and equipment, standards, and training. With a solid understanding of existing products, procedures, operations standards and KPIs to serve as a baseline, this role is responsible for leading a team that identifies the most effective and efficient operational procedures, ensures the delivery of the highest quality products and best experience to our guests, and constantly monitors and improves key operational KPIs. 

This role is responsible for prioritizing and solving complex business problems that will have a major impact on Tim Hortons restaurants and business, which require this individual to frequently interact and collaborate with key franchise owners, vendors, internal field-based team, and internal senior leaders in both formal and informal settings to align on and execute restaurant-level changes. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead team in supporting the new product development process and identifying existing improvement opportunities for existing restaurant procedures and processes
  • Lead Tims University US program manager to onboard new franchisees
  • Lead operations training and field-based team in national product, equipment, and technology launches
  • Lead analytics team on data analysis to conduct deep dive analysis to identify operational opportunities, apply problem solving methodology to drive sustainable operations improvements
  • Lead analytics team to create analytics tools for the field-based team and optimize and automate recurring reporting and business intelligence through creation of reporting dashboards
  • Collaborate with franchisees, vendors and internal stakeholders at all levels to understand potentially competing business needs, and identify solutions to make efficient restaurant-level execution a reality  
  • Research alternative approaches, identify new resources when necessary, and innovate on potential solutions when no obvious ones exist
  • Provide a Go/No Go recommendation to senior leadership on a wide variety of product, equipment, technology initiatives, supported by relevant metrics and observations obtained in testing 
  • Manage various methods of Franchise communication including monthly webcasts, weekly emails, and intranet memos.

Responsibilities

Skills & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA preferred
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Min 5-7 years of prior work experience in Operations, Analytics
  • Prior work experience in Data Science or Data analytics preferred
  • Ability to distill large amounts of data and extract insights
  • Advanced knowledge and experience using MS Office Suite – (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Advanced knowledge and experience using Tableau, Business Objects or other data analytics software such as Alteryx and Databricks, is highly preferred
  • Skilled in managing multiple priorities and projects; skilled in interacting effectively under difficult circumstances and tight deadlines; skilled in analyzing relevant data and supporting decision making
