About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Director of Operations to join our rapidly growing venture-backed company. The Director of Operations for our Dallas location will oversee end-to-end processes associated with manufacturing dental restorations (e.g., crown & bridge, implants, dentures, night guards), lead various cross-functional initiatives, ensure optimal use of equipment, and enforce quality & safety adherence. In this role, you will build and manage a team of 150+ technicians with varying levels of dental experience in a state-of-the-art and digital-only facility. This facility is currently being constructed and will be brand new, giving you access to the latest technology to build out your team and drive optimization of existing processes. You will be responsible for ensuring that orders are fabricated at the highest quality standards per customer deadlines and meet company-set financial targets. What You'll Do
Build the team:
Set the strategy and vision for the team you will build from the ground up
Hire 150+ employees to create a world-class dental lab facility across Crown and Bridge, Implants, Milling, 3D Printing, Training, QC, Facilities Management, Finance, and more
Coach and develop existing experts in the dental lab industry into leaders who will build and manage high performing teams
Mentor and lead direct reports. Create a culture of regular coaching and professional development
Work with Human Resources to continuously onboard, motivate, and develop employees in the most efficient & effective ways
Motivate front line employees to see the big picture and provide daily feedback to guide them toward enabling the company’s vision
Adapt to challenges:
Take direction and goals from Head of Manufacturing and translate them into actions
Tackle change by leading with the why and inspiring buy-in & action at all levels
Allocate resources as needed based on business priorities and OKRs
Solicit feedback across multiple stakeholders internally and externally in order to understand improvement areas
See problems as opportunities; Be open to new ideas and ways of doing things
Leverage first-principle thinking to identify creative solutions that address complex challenges
Drive results:
Understand and own the site’s performance
Set targets, drive execution, and hold the team accountable for individual & facility results
Drive standardization in alignment with broader organizational goals
Take full responsibility for communicating business priorities to the team
Remove barriers so the team can execute against goals under tight timelines
Manage labor and operating costs in accordance with budgets & strategic plans
Provide information to various personnel in a timely manner, including daily/weekly/monthly reporting requirements and other ad hoc information requests
What We're Looking For
10-15 years of manufacturing experience, preferably currently having same role (Director of Operations) in a manufacturing company OR increasing management responsibility in a manufacturing environment
Strong operational experience with the ability to establish and measure KPIs
Relentless drive for excellence and ability to create a culture that values high performance
Excellent people manager who can motivate and create a positive employee experience
Energizing leader who elevates the thinking and output of everyone around them
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Proven analytical, evaluative and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail
Proficient with Excel or similar
Is coachable - regularly solicits feedback from teammates above, below, and adjacent, and demonstrates agility by making clear behavioral changes
Ability to be onsite at the facility daily Mon-Fri

Technical Degree (Engineering, Manufacturing, etc.)
Outstanding professional references to share
APICS, CQE, Six sigma or Continuous Improvement credentials preferred
Possess working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques including: Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Kanban, Visual Management and JIT Lean manufacturing
