The Director of Operational Performance is responsible for developing and supporting strategies to help our commercial teams and the company achieve its business goals. Reporting directly to our Chief Commercial Officer, this person will build and lead our operational improvement practice, delivering critical initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our processes while improving our customers' overall experience. Pie is looking for a hands-on, collaborative leader that will work closely with all levels of the organization to prioritize, plan and implement process improvements cross-functionally.
How You'll Do It

  • Business Process Improvement
    • Develop and execute strategies related to continuous improvement. Must develop a good understanding of the challenges associated with each department as well as a process for offering advice and guidance for improving profitability and efficiency.
    • Create and document plans to achieve goals, and provide instruction and motivation to management to implement strategies and projects.
    • Collaborate across customer-facing departments to analyze existing strategies and practices, and identify areas for improvement.
    • Assist each department with developing and implementing a strategic plan that aligns with organizational goals to ensure efficient use of company resources while achieving business goals.
    • Work cross-functionally to determine areas where we can gain organizational synergy, improve customer engagement, scale our operations, and achieve our financial targets.
  • Reporting and Recommendations
    • Provide recommendations rooted in a solid financial case to advance our business goals.
    • Work closely with the Executive Team and provide data vital to decision-making.
    • Use analytical skills and the ability to translate metrics, research, and trends to identify opportunities and initiatives for improvement.
    • Conduct root cause analysis and communicate findings in a synthesized format. Deliver impact assessment.
  • Leadership and Mentoring
    • Lead a small team of highly skilled process improvement specialists.
    • Coach, mentor, and develop team members for future needs and operational excellence.
    • Work collaboratively with the People Partner throughout the team member lifecycle, including but not limited to hiring, onboarding, performance management, team member relations and offboarding.


The Right Stuff

  • 8 years of relevant experience in areas of Consulting, Corporate Strategy, Operational Improvement, Change Management, or Management Consulting
  • 4 years of leadership and people management experience with multiple direct reports and is effective as a player/coach contributor
  • Bachelor's Degree is required. Graduate degree is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Lean Six Sigma. Certification is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in project management and operational excellence/continuous improvement processes
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze and address a wide variety of issues with a solutions-oriented lens
  • Comfortable leading Kaizen events to identify lean opportunities
  • Comfortable working with large data sets; can dig into correlation and regression
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and relationships with individuals at all levels across the organization
  • Can disseminate information effectively across a variety of audiences
  • Advanced presentation building and delivery skills (simple, effective, data-driven)


Compensation range for position: $165,000 - $230,000

Location Information
Unless otherwise specified, this role has the option to be hybrid or remote. Hybrid work locations provide team members with the flexibility of working partially from our Denver or DC office and from home. Remote team members must live and work in the United States* (*territories excluded), and have access to reliable, high-speed internet.
