We’re looking for a Director of M&A to lead our M&A team whose sole purpose is to identify, evaluate, recommend and close brand acquisitions. This role will be a critical part of our growing team as a whole and provide insights and strategic support to Village and Pattern.

Job Information

The Director of M&A will lead a team of M&A Analysts. The Director will help refine our M&A strategy, including identifying, qualifying and vetting target brands, structuring deals and handling negotiations. They will work closely with Brokers, Bankers and Sellers to close opportunities within our investment framework.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partner with Brokers, Bankers and Sellers to identify Brand acquisition opportunities.
  • Lead and manage deal execution.
  • Managing and reviewing financial models and business valuations.
  • Interacting with current and prospective sellers and managing deal and process related requests
  • Reviewing CIM’s and other transaction related documents
  • Reviewing “pitch” materials and other presentations
  • Managing staffing and work product of M&A team
  • Engages in acquisition analysis and decision-making
  • Approves and directs the acquisition framework
  • Have an in-depth understanding of deal structure, including financial and competitive due diligence
  • Guide the seller though the deal process, being able to draft legal documents, including preparing LOI’s
  • Use data and reports to make fact-based decisions
  • Determine KPIs for the M&A department
  • Participate in business development activities.
  • Lead the Due Diligence process
  • Participate in the Brand Integration process


Characteristics and skills important to success of a candidate in this position:

  • Background qualifications include: Candidates should have direct M&A experience and 5+ years of work experience in investment banking, transaction advisory, or similar role.
