At Picket Homes, we believe everyone should be able to live the way they want to live. More Americans are choosing to rent homes than ever before, and we believe it’s time for the quality of the experience to catch up to the demand. That’s why Picket and its property management subsidiary, Elara, are setting out to fundamentally transform the experience of renting a home.
We're disrupting this industry with modern technology and a rich inventory of quality residences, unparalleled service, smart home integrations, price certainty, security, and more. Come build with us!
We are hiring a Director of Market Operations (DMO) for Elara in 2022 as we expand into the local market. The right candidate will be an individual who obsesses over customers, ensuring a high level of service in all interactions, whether in-person, by phone, or in writing. They must ensure optimization of the real estate portfolio under their care, to the benefit of both residents and investors, and deliver on key metrics while also ensuring profitability and efficiency in operations. They must be a strong, trusted leader, and someone who builds a capable team and fosters their career development, always raising the bar on talent.
This role will initially be very hands-on, as you take over a new market and grow your team. We are looking for seasoned professionals with at least five (5) years of directly relevant leadership experience in property management for either single-family or multi-family rentals, and at least three (3) years supervising large teams. Candidates should have a demonstrated history of delivering on P&L objectives, and the ability to both maintain relationships within the organization as well as build them within their local community.
Candidates should possess strong organizational skills and be comfortable with technology, as they will be training staff on our proprietary software. They must be able to thrive in a fast-paced organization where priorities shift regularly while maintaining high morale among staff. Lastly, they must maintain an ownership mindset at all times and instill what that means in their team.
Within the first thirty (30) days of joining the Elara team, the candidate will have fully come up to speed on the existing portfolio of properties and the partners and vendors in their market.
Within the first ninety (90) days the candidate will have assessed the homes under management and developed a staffing and vendor plan to support the growth in their market. This includes due diligence and scope of work on homes under contract, coordinating renovation, turns and maintenance (with Elara eventually performing much of this work in-house), leasing, customer onboarding and ongoing customer service.
We do not accept solicitations from third-party recruiters for any positions. A background check, credit report, and pre-employment drug screening are required for this position. Elara is an equal opportunity employer that celebrates diversity and we welcome applicants from all backgrounds.
At Picket Homes and Elara, we are building something new and different - come build with us.
