Purpose:

The Director of Leadership Development is responsible for the design, development, and delivery of a comprehensive series of leadership training programs. Working closely with Human Resources, Store Operations, and key business partners across the organization, this role will develop and facilitate learning solutions that align with Floor & Decor's business goals. This role is an integral part of the Learning team and will work with strategic business partners to develop and deliver Leadership Programs for Retail Field Managers, and leaders across the organization. Responsibilities include analysis of current Leadership Training Programs, identifying performance gaps, and designing appropriate learning solutions for leaders in Retail Stores, Corporate Office, Distribution Centers, and Call Centers.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Design, or related field (Relevant work experience can be substituted for the required education)
  • 5 years of learning and development experience and strong track record for developing teams
  • 5 years of people leadership experience in creating and building inclusive and high performing teams
  • Strong knowledge and experience of retail operations, sales management, and customer service
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Project management experience, supporting complex company initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and influence associates by building teams to achieve exemplary results
  • Must be detail-oriented and highly analytical
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Learning Management Systems, and be familiar with CRM software and procedural standards
  • Possess excellent customer service skills and work well under pressure



Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversee Leadership Training Programs for Management roles in Retail and supporting channels.
  • Conduct research by interviewing subject matter experts ("SMEs") and reviewing existing documentation and training programs
  • Prepare, edit and deliver "blended" Manager training programs in accordance with best practices and benchmarked against industry leading companies
  • Translate management skills of medium to high complexity into clear, concise training systems
  • Support region teams and operations leadership to meet defined development and internal promotion targets for each department
  • Support Regional markets - Manager training workshops, class schedules, and class enrollment
  • Conduct needs analysis, validations, and follow-up on all Manager training processes to maximize consistency or execution of programs
  • Provide documentation support for ongoing projects including site assessments, surveys, focus group studies, and task force initiatives
  • Act in concert with the other department team members, share and contribute ideas to improve revisions and maintenance of existing training content
  • Ability to build and execute an effective and scalable leadership development learning strategy with a focus on professional growth
  • Ability to identify leadership performance gaps across all retail channels with a view to determining and developing solutions to meet strategic business objectives.



WORKING CONDITIONS (TRAVEL & ENVIRONMENT):

  • Frequent travel required including air and car
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate.



PHYSICAL/SENSORY REQUIREMENTS

Sedentary Work - Ability to exert 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
