BetterUp is looking for a “Director, Corporate IT”  that will lead and build our IT department as we scale our business. In this role, you will establish a brand for IT that centers around enabling our business to make the most effective use of technology in ways that align with our people, our values, and our guiding principles. You will lead and build a team of thoughtful and driven technology experts to enable BetterUp to accelerate as we continue to grow. You will drive a strategy of innovation, partnering with other leaders across our business to create solutions that will provide a significant advantage to BetterUp.

What you’ll do:

  • Set the brand, vision, and standards for providing great service to the people of BetterUp
  • Build a world-class Corporate IT organization by recruiting, developing, and retaining the best talent
  • Create infrastructure standards that create a simple and effective user experience across our business systems and offices worldwide
  • Build the strategy to improve our laptop fleet, providing the best possible balance of security and usability across the globe
  • Be the trusted partner and technology advocate across the teams in our business.
  • Partner with key business stakeholders to develop the business systems strategy for our growing organization.
  • Ensure that our near-term solutions are aligned with best practices that will deliver architecture that can scale our business.

If you have some or all of the following, please apply:

  • Minimum eight years of progressively responsible information technology management experience, including supervisory experience (across multiple continents) and ‘from-scratch’ team-building experience; furthermore, should have evidence of inspiring, motivating, and creating a rewarding environment in a supervisory role.
  • Must be metrics-driven and have a keen sense for interpreting key performance indicators.
  • Must possess evidence of building strong partnerships and relationships across a growing and mature organization as well as with external partners and stakeholders. 
  • Able to communicate core messages in a concise manner that resonates with a varied and often highly technical audience. 
  • Adaptable to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change
  • Highly aware of how their actions and solutions will impact other parts of the business; furthermore will drive to self-develop and must have a strong desire to excel.
  • Up-to-date understanding of market trends and a keen interest in following emerging technologies.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complicated technology concepts simply and clearly.
  • Openly embraces and encourages change and growth in people, processes, and technology.
  • Working knowledge of industry-standard compliance and regulatory frameworks (e.g., SOC2, ISO27k, SOX) 
  • Strong experience managing a portfolio of IT projects

Technical Experience:

  • B.S. in Information Systems Management or equivalent experience.  A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Strong, broad, and deep knowledge of infrastructure management (Networking, Systems, VM’s, Storage, Cloud services/SaaS, etc.) and application delivery (ERP, CRM/SFA, BI, collaboration and messaging tools,  etc.); as well as a deep understanding of what it takes to support a global infrastructure and cloud-based business applications environment.

At BetterUp, we compensate our employees fairly for their work. Base salary is determined by job-related experience, education/training, residence location, as well as market indicators. The range below is representative of base salary only and does not include equity, sales bonus plans (when applicable) and benefits. This range may be modified in the future.

The base salary range for this role is $156,792 - $242,390

If you live in New York, the base salary range for this role is: 

$173,730 – $242,390: New York City

$165,044 – $230,270:Nassau, Newburgh

$156,792 – $218,758: Albany, Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse
