The Opportunity

The Director of IT Analytics will lead a team of data wranglers and cooperate with data scientists that will research, collect and integrate data to find ways to optimize overall IT activities by using data to analyze operational inefficiencies, hardware tools, data risks, cyber risks, etc. This person will also lead the construction and management of IT KPIs, reports etc.

The ideal candidate should have a strong expertise with both structured and unstructured data and have a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvements. Further, the ideal candidate must be able to thrive in situations of high ambiguity, where research and deep data analysis is necessary, often for extended periods of time, before performing more complex analyses.

The Work Itself
• Lead all data related activities to support development of new IT Analytics methodologies to improve operations and business outcomes.
• Develop a standard analytic process and help the larger team apply analytic best practices.
• Partner with shared technical and business resources (LOBs, IT teams, Risk, etc.) to effectively deliver and support solutions.
• Help translate business partner requirements into data and analytical specifications.
• Build out use cases based upon business/project needs and requirements.
• Articulate the detailed requirements for use cases (data needed, frequency of use).
• Provide overall support to Ally priority projects as needed.
• Discover unknown opportunities to optimize IT operations, by utilizing data related to equipment use, software, and other IT assets.

The Skills You Bring
• 7+ years of modeling/analytics experience.
• At least 5 years of management experience.
• Must demonstrate strong exploratory data analysis background.
• Masters' degree in a technical field, or an MBA with appropriate experience.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, especially for data stitching and data discovery.
• Dominate at least one of the following programming language used in analytics: SAS, Python or R.
• Strong knowledge multiple data warehousing systems, including Snowflake and AWS.
• Strong analytical, communication (written and oral), and interpersonal skills, be able to translate models into business insight.
• Familiarity with Agile is a plus.
• Must be organized, team focused, and have a partnership attitude.
• Ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical and technical clients and colleagues.
• Experience building and maintaining relationships with multiple business partners.
• Microsoft Office products experience required.
• Must be self-motivated.
• Ability to work in a team and fast paced changing environment.
• Ability to identify problems/issues and implement solutions.
• Experience in building new business processes and re-inventing existing ones to eliminate redundancies and inefficiencies.
