Director, Inventory Control

With the advent of molecular testing, we can finally decode and process our genetic makeup. We now have more data than ever before but providers don't have the infrastructure or expertise to make sense of this data. We're on a mission to connect an entire ecosystem to redefine how molecular data is used in clinical settings.
Moreover, we are leveraging technology and data to fight against COVID-19 and to build a system to ensure that future pandemics can be detected and treated faster, more effectively and with better use of data. We are looking for the best and brightest to help us build this new paradigm in infectious disease treatment.
What you’ll do:
- Lead inventory control management function across all current and future lab locations
- Consolidate and improve inventory processes across all lab locations
- Consult and coordinate with the rest of the supply chain team to create an automated, executable and traceable system for inventory deployment
- Create best practices for inventory receiving, bin transfers, intracompany transfers, etc.
- Drive improvements to inventory control, tracking, locking down critical inventory items
- Coordinate with lab leadership to create specific kanban bin locations in lab with approved list of components and quantities in these bins
- Implement NetSuite WMS barcoding system to better handle inventory on a live basis
- Plan future inventory levels and space/capacity requirements including refrigeration for temperature sensitive components
- Manage / improve NetSuite master data functionality for inventory including dimensions, unit of measure and similar relevant fields
- Present findings and subsequent improvements for loss to finance and lab leadership
- Develop and maintain relationships with 3PL warehousing companies to store inventory or equipment as needed
- Oversee the cycle counting and period end count processes with auditors as needed
- Track and implement plans for slow moving / excess inventory
- Provide any necessary reporting packages for inventory planning to FP&A
- Maintain appropriate system for ensuring only approved inventory is deployed for use
- Refine system for ABC classification to ensure greatest visibility on most critical items
- Work with regulatory, QA, QC teams to track any issues with inventory and execute subsequent plans accordingly
Qualifications:
Must have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in supply chain, operations or related fields
- At least 7+ years experience in supply chain, operations, purchasing or related fields
- At least 3+ years in leadership or senior level role within team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills with ability to quickly learn new tools and systems
- Technical understanding of inventory management / ERP systems
- Ability to work independently and coordinate information from several departments
- Impeccable organizational skills, integrity and attention to detail
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency
- Ability to travel up to 50%
Highly Desirable:
- Experience working in an ERP system such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite
- Experience with Tableau / other BI systems
- APICS, lean, six-sigma certification(s) are a plus
