Director, Healthcare Services Strategy

As part of this mission, Chewy Health is hiring an Director, Healthcare Services Strategy in in Plantation, Florida or Bellevue, WA to help define, shape, launch and grow the next generation of services we will offer our pet parents and veterinarian partners. This leader will own defining and implementing the portfolio of new services we will offer, identifying and managing the network of partners required to support service delivery, defining and managing how we price and bundle those services for customers, and defining how we merchandise services and drive cross-selling with relevant product assortment offered by Chewy. Further, this leader will own defining the growth strategy, setting goals and profitability targets for our services, and managing the P&L, and continuously assessing our portfolio of offerings to stay ahead of customer demand and competitive offerings.
Our ideal candidate is an experienced and versatile business leader with business & service development experience who has a proven track record of high performance, thinking big, and turning ambiguity and ideas into actionable plans and business results. Finally, the Director, Healthcare Services Strategy will be an experience team leader and mentor in a high-pace environment demanding clear and effective leadership.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead a team encompassing service strategy & operations, merchandising, pricing, promotions, forecasting, budgeting, etc
- Identify, size and shape new services that solve problems for both vets and pet parents, and influence investment choices that will provide long-term innovation in the space
- Define the overall services strategy and manage the portfolio of services offered to pet parents and veterinarians
- Partner closely with internal operations and product management teams to ensure holistic planning, implementation, launch and execution of the services we offer
- Identify, select and negotiate agreements with key partners required to support delivery of services; Manage relationships with these partners on an ongoing basis to ensure quality and cost goals are achieved.
- Manage the service and product P&L for our service portfolio, setting growth and profitability goals and leading the team to deliver against them
- Set and manage pricing strategies for our services, including bundling of services and/or design of prepaid plans offered to customers and vets
- Partner with marketing and site merchandising teams to build and implement strategies and plans to drive new and existing customers to become clients of our services
- Lead and develop a world class team; Partner with recruiting to identify and close top talent
- Constantly audit, improve, invent, and WOW Chewy’s customers
What You’ll Need:
- BA/BS degree in Finance, Business, Engineering or similar discipline
- 12+ years of holistic business experience in a retail or onlione services business; veterinary or healthcare experience preferred
- 7+ years of leadership experience; 4+ as a leader of leaders
- Track record of delivering results in a P&L ownership role
- Exceptional competencies in vendor/partner management, sales, marketing, and general management
- Strong financial acumen & demonstrated understanding of pricing, forecasting, and operations concepts and functions
- Experience with owning and growing large-size and complex businesses at high growth rate
- Demonstrated ability to launch and rapidly scale new business ventures
- Strong comprehensive business acumen and the willingness to move fast
- Excellent strategic and analytical skills
- Proven operator, skilled in go-to-market, and with focus on executing in excellence
- Superior sense of ownership paired with a high-quality bar and an unshakable growth mindset
- Strong leadership skills and experience developing and managing a high-performance team
- Superb communication skills combined with the ability to influence cross-functional partners
- Must be open to travel if needed
- Demonstrated success in building a culture of experimentation, learning, and innovation
- Inspirational leadership skills and entrepreneurial spirit
Bonus if you:
- MBA or equivalent degree
- DVM degree
- Experience in corporate management of multi-site veterinary groups OR human health clinics, either in a strategy, medical operations, business development or general management role
- Strong understanding of the overall pet care industry and recent trends
- In depth experience and understanding of the veterinary profession in the US
