Job Overview

The Director of Growth Operations will build a team at AvidXchange that helps our Sales Teams win.

It is a unique role that requires both:

1.Operational rigor - attention to detail, organization, process improvement, and accountability - to ensure a well-functioning back-office

2.Strategic thinking - analytical, growth minded, creative - to serve as consigliere for our Sales Executives

This leader will be empowered to build a team that marries the aforementioned skillsets to create a dynamic and high performing organization. They will be given latitude to make broad changes but will be held accountable to making sure the transformation is in lockstep with our Sales Teams; embodying AvidXchange's Core Value of Winning Together.

Sales Leaders will look to this individual for insights, opinions, and viewpoints on where they should pivot in strategy. This is an individual that will need to use data first (and sometimes gut) to inform where strategy should change and where hard operational decisions must be made.

Tantamount to being world class at strategy, this individual will have to build a solid operational foundation that consistently monitors deal process, forecasting exercises, financial planning, monthly commissions, and all the aspects that are needed for a well-run operation.

Job Responsibilities
• Build and lead a team of operations and analysis professionals that owns the end-to-end process of tracking the sales process and conversion rates throughout the sales funnel and make recommendations on the adjustments needed to improve sales performance. This team should inform the sales team on historical results, current performance, and expected results in the future.
• Develop the tools, methods and reporting capability cross-functionally to make decisions consistent with the overall growth objectives and establish accountability across the organization. This includes pricing, finance controls, and user experience for sales.
• Manage the development of continuously evolving forecast models and methodologies leveraging multi-source analysis.
• Partner with sales and marketing leadership to jointly develop and document standards for sales excellence and report on execution of those sales standards.
• Develop and own a sound sales and marketing data governance program.
• Design and manage reports, analyses, forecasts, and dashboards in the CRM system. This includes visibility to enable sales leader accountability for "life of a lead" and root cause analysis for win/loss reasons.
• Develop a strategic roadmap to enhance the quality of sales-related data. Gain cross functional support and drive sales and marketing initiatives through development, implementation, and adoption.
• Drive resource optimization decisions including territory refinement, quota and goals assessment, capacity management, and resource allocation by conversion results.
• Drive on-going territory evaluation and refinement efforts
• Produce sales forecasts and develop methods of making more accurate predictions.
• Partner with Human Resources, Sales and Finance in the development and administration of sales incentive compensation programs.
• Develop and support a formal VOC (Voice of Customer) program that includes capturing competitive insights and client insights leading to an increase in Target Customers.
• Ensure tight integration of sales process and tools. Proactively identify opportunities for sales process improvement. Work closely with sales management to inspect sales process quality and prioritize opportunities for improvement.
• Oversee and drive all sales enablement activities

Required Experience, Qualifications, and Skills
• 5+ years of relevant experience in strategy, sales operations, or financial planning and analysis
• Experience as a people leader managing a team of direct reports
• Relentless execution ability, superior organizational leadership & communication skills in a matrix environment
• Demonstrated ability to lead business transformation initiatives, ideally for a high performing sales organization
• Insatiable curiosity, excellent analytical skills, strong financial forecasting and accounting skills combined with strong business judgment and data governance experience
• Strong strategic planning skills combined with exceptional execution
• Strong skill set in managing, enhancing and working with Salesforce data, reporting and governance.

Preferred Experience, Qualifications, and Skills
• Bachelor degree required and MBA preferred
• Six Sigma or formal PE experience a plus
• Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience

Additional Information
• This job can work remotely, however we would prefer for this Leader to live in one of AvidXchange's National Hubs - Charlotte, NC (HQ), Sandy, UT, Los Angeles, CA, Houston, TX, Birmingham, AL.
