The Red Hat Global Workplace Solutions (GWS) team is looking for a Director of Global Facilities Operations to join our global team in Raleigh, NC or Hybrid Office Flex in Boston or Westford, MA or Tysons Corner, VA. In this role, you will oversee our global site operations teams by working with each regional leader to continue to develop and evolve our operational strategies, processes, and standards. You will play an integral part in helping to foster a unique environment and workplace that supports our company's collaborative and diverse culture of innovation. In partnership with other team members and Red Hatters, you will bring forward innovative industry insights and strategies to inspire the direction of the workplace. Your work will enable an associate-focused, industry and research-driven model, helping the greater team accomplish long-term goals in a fast-paced, high-growth workplace. As a Director, you'll need to be comfortable working with senior company leadership, guiding process improvement, motivating high performers, and persuading others across functions in a collaborative and consultative business partnership role.
What you will do

  • Lead the global operations team responsible for delivering outstanding workplace services, programs, and facilities
  • Establish a global operations strategy with measurable results that are benchmarked against industry standards and align with Red Hat's corporate strategy and business needs
  • Work directly with the regional management team and other key stakeholders to develop and implement global plans and annual goals for the facilities operations function
  • Provide regular performance feedback and conduct quarterly performance reviews
  • Track and measure overall team performance, improvement efforts, successes, and gaps
  • Be accountable for global budget compliance, implementation of initiatives, and adherence to safety and security standards
  • Build and maintain a capital improvement and site refresh program and schedule, in partnership with our extended GWS, IT, People (HR), and Finance teams and relevant business units
  • Promote and foster an environment of teamwork, transparency, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Develop a strategic facilities sourcing program in partnership with procurement to minimize and mitigate risk, manage costs, and promote global consistency
  • Use industry knowledge, resources, and expertise to evolve our facilities tooling and analytics programs
  • Use your industry knowledge and expertise to help achieve global consistency, recognizing regional variations and localized preferences that fit with Red Hat's valued associate culture
  • Lead and support critical incident management efforts when and where needed


What you will bring

  • 8+ years of experience working in facility management; 5+ years of experience serving in a people management role
  • Experience developing and implementing global strategic facility initiatives
  • Technical knowledge of and expertise in building systems and infrastructure
  • Experience and skill using a vast array of business tools like Oracle, Workday, Tableau, G Suite, etc.
  • Ability to manage and respond to change in a proactive and productive manner
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally using details, data, and analytical reasoning to solve complex problems
  • Ability to inspire and motivate a large and globally diverse team
  • Exceptional communication, organization, prioritization, and delegation skills
  • Solid ability to inspire and persuade senior stakeholders to adopt new concepts, practices, and approaches
  • Ability to effectively communicate with global audiences at all organizational levels using presentations, emails, briefs, etc.
  • Moderate international and domestic travel (10-20%) is likely, following Red Hat's COVID-19 guidelines
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience are a plus
  • Industry certifications like Certified Financial Manager (CFM), Master of Corporate Real Estate MCR, etc., are a plus
