Director, Food & Beverage Operations
The Food & Beverage Operations Director is responsible for launching new F&B outlets and managing ongoing operations across our portfolio. Our goal as a department is to create timeless venues that are locally-rooted and beloved. We launch these venues on-time, on-budget, on-brand, with excess of demand while generating profits that are higher than the market rent for that space and drive RevPar for the hotel/property. We operate as a best in class F&B operator, incredibly reliable and consistent in our ability to launch venues with below market pre-opening budgets and timelines while bringing in above market profits. Furthermore, wedo so while maintaining low corporate expenses and keeping our department scalable.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Pre-Opening Support
- Own the Critical Path (opening plan) and ensure timely completion of each step towards opening
- Train on-property management teams and establish company culture
OS&E Procurement
- Select CGS, smallwares, operating supplies, and equipment necessary to operate the F&B outlet that is in-line with the concept and within the pre-opening budget
- Select uniforms that are functional and in-line with the concept
Recruiting and Hiring
- Identify top managerial talent in each market that are within our budget and are ‘on-brand’
Ongoing Support, Management, & Troubleshooting
- Regularly meet with local management teams to ensure they are following their quarterly OKRs, beating budget, and staying on-brand and on-concept
- Ensure local teams are effectively using all of our proprietary systems
- Troubleshoot any issues that require corporate involvement
Documentation
- Assist in the creation of SOPs, strategy documents, and one-pagers to increase the scalability of the F&B department and provide local teams with a robust toolkit to operate autonomously with minimal corporate involvement
Tech & Systems Support
- Assist in rolling out our suite of technology and proprietary systems at all of our properties
Budgeting Review
- Assist in the creation of pre-opening budgets and annual plans
- Tracking outlet’s financial performance
- Manage outlet’s costs
- Promptly identify low revenues or high costs at an outlet and assist in creating a CAP to address the underlying cause of these financial issues
Corporate Strategy and Reporting
- Participate in corporate initiatives such as OKRs, weekly updates, time tracking, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree
- Deeply passionate about F&B and knowledgeable about the industry
- Highly organized, industrious, and productive
- Willing to travel and work extended hours
EXPERIENCE
- Min 5 years experience with both FOH & BOH operations
- Min 3 restaurant launches in a managerial capacity

THE COMPANY
Life House is a software-enabled hotel operations platform that is making hotels operationally autonomous and powering the digital transformation of the hotel ecosystem. We make hotels easy to operate and maximally profitable for hotel owners through i) automation of the back-office operations of a hotel, and ii) enabling on-site staff to excel at their jobs with minimal training. The result is a more profitable hotel, with hotel staff that are empowered to better serve their guests (with less training), and a better valued hotel experience for travelers. We've just raised nearly $60M in Series C financing from the likes of Inovia, Tiger Global, and Kayak, among others. We operate over 50 hotels with our software and will use the new funds to build an amazing team, grow our portfolio of hotels, and to start selling our software.
