Summary
EverMerge is a beautiful, engaging, world building merge title from Big Fish Games. Your mission is to help us grow EverMerge. As our Technical Director, you will work closely with our partner developers, focus on our architecture, and ensure the game scales as we grow. This role will work closely with Product and Production to define the technology direction. You will determine what and how we should approach building critical tech and tools to reach our business goals. You will also help grow, manage, and mentor a group of internal engineers and lead this team to build tools and game features.
Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with Product and Production, determine what needs to be built to satisfy business needs and coordinate with the local team and the external development team
  • Prioritize tech roadmap and backlog according to the business needs.
  • Constant review of the game's codebase and architecture to identify key areas of improvement.
  • Work with the Product team to identify where there are opportunities to grow the game.
  • Grow, manage, and mentor a group of internal engineers
  • Lead and help a group of internal engineers to build game features and tools.


Qualifications

  • You have built game features from concept to release and understand the details as well as the bigger picture.
  • You have past experience in mobile game development as a hands-on engineer using Unity/C#.
  • You have past experience of server side development.
  • You have led a team of developers, internally or externally.
  • You have worked on casual mobile games and understand how they work, the game's performance lifecycle, and how they can be grown.
  • You are patient explaining context when suggesting improvements and rationale when justifying the 'Why' behind a business requirement, especially to non-technical stakeholders.
  • You have grown a team, whether by sourcing a development partner, hiring directly or through acquisition; This role will lead an engineering team made up of direct reports, vendors, and partner studios.
  • You are flexible and work well with an environment that changes and adapts
  • You are willing to roll up your sleeves to get the job done
  • You are comfortable with the scrum/agile methodology.
  • 10+ yr experience in the game industry
