Our rapidly growing People Team of mission-driven, climate enthusiasts is passionate, innovative and committed to a better future for the planet. We are looking for a Director, Culture and Engagement to help us serve as the thread across the business for all things culture and engagement and play a hands-on role in all aspects of the employee lifecycle. This role will create a culture and engagement roadmap that will be our north star for building an environment where Avengers feel energized, engaged, valued and can be their whole, authentic self. This role will understand the changing landscape and work closely with internal teams to build an approach that allows us to be agile and adapt.

How you’ll help: 

  1. Culture & Engagement Strategy: Set a bold cultural & engagement aspiration and strategy: In partnership with People Leadership, determine the ideal cultural north star that boosts engagement and significantly advances DE&I outcomes; translate vision into a tactical, year-long roadmap
  2. Employee Engagement: Play a key strategic role in employee engagement. Through support of Inspire’s quarterly engagement survey and action planning process; Analyze engagement survey data in partnership with Sr Manager, Comp & Analytics and Sr Manager, Talent Development in order to best support employees and teams by gathering additional qualitative information in low scoring areas.  Additionally, supporting leaders in their approach to enhancing the employee experience (offsites, team building and connection focused programming to enhance relationships)
  3. Internal Communications: Manages Internal Communications calendar in partnership with Marketing, Monthly huddle, crafts copy for all HR and Culture/Engagement focused Communications (calendar management, Huddle, support of People and Exec communications) 
  4. Onboarding: Manages and audits 90 day onboarding experience including preboarding process, orientation, e-learning trainings, and RAMP offsite 
  5. Offboarding:  Participate in exit interviews and exit survey aggregation to identify themes in opportunities for areas of improvement and increased retention solutions
  6. Company Programming & Events: Own and maintain Inspire’s company-wide annual calendar through partnerships with the office of the president, ERG chairs, and impact team to build out a cohesive flow of programming. 
    • Maintain Event traditions (Holiday Party, Earth Day, Halloween), 
    • Build & maintain volunteerism program in partnership with Impact
    • Implement and manage wellness initiatives 
    • Maintain Community recognition strategy
    • Manage recurring & smaller scale programming to drive engagement in Open Workplace
  • Leads the Community Team in executing on the following touchpoints:
  • Play a key support role to Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to curate cohesive programming and participate in the company Diversity Council. 
  • Team Leadership:  Develop, coach and grow talent on the Community Team.
  • Office Facilities: Oversee day-to-day operations of both coasts, project manage evolution into Open Workplace, project manage any office moves or expansions. Leads the Community Team in execution on these touchpoints.
  • Some 1 year deliverables:

    • Huddle Management 
    • Implementation of engagement action plan support 
    • Annual Programming calendar strategy & management  
    • Audit of 90 Day Onboarding program & Ramp (onboarding offsite)
    • Return to work plan and implementation of Open Workplace
    • Community events & programming strategy and schedule
    • Recognition program maintenance and evolution 
    • Internal communications strategy & calendar management
    • Annual Retreat evolution & execution 
    • Wellness initiatives

    Here’s what you’ll bring to the table:

    • Must Have
      • 8+ years of experience in Human Resources, DE&I, culture/transformation, PR, and/or communications
      • Prior experience managing or participating in internal communications; requiring a colloquial, strong written and spoken skillset with the ability to craft messages for a variety of audiences and reflect a variety of voices
      • Experience driving an engaging and collaborative culture in a remote work environment
      • Experience in building and/or partnering on company-wide DE&I initiatives through ERG engagement and thoughtful programming 
      • Experience orchestrating/leading action across multiple channels & departments, without always having direct authority
      • Prior experience hiring, developing, coaching and growing a team of 2-3 direct reports
      • Experience developing, implementing, and measuring employee programming, while managing limited resources, short deadlines, and shifting priorities
      • Ability to positively impact culture, creating sustained engagement, energy and excitement about the mission, vision and strategy of the organization
      • Must be willing to travel between coasts (Philadelphia/Los Angeles) minimally 12 times per year to attend/facilitate new hire orientation (Ramp), regional/company wide events, check in on offices, team onsites all dependent on current COVID related regulations and our approach to in person gatherings as a company.
    • Nice to Have
      • Knowledge of office operations and facilities, up-to-date on local office requirements
      • Exhibits strong collaborative skills and the ability to work cross-functionally across all levels of management
      • Experience leading change management initiatives
      • Experience specifically running/supporting ERGs 
      • Ability to lead and influence at all levels within the organization, and make decisions while keeping all partners and leaders informed.
